💡 If inspiration strikes, make sure you write it down...

Hmmm….somewhere in the depths of my laptop bag is a notebook I specifically bought for writing brilliant business ideas down.

You know the one. The notebook that was going to transform your productivity, keep all your ideas in one place, and finally stop you scribbling things on receipts, school letters and random Post-it notes.

The problem?
I can't find it. 🙄

As women business owners, our brains are constantly juggling a million things at once.
Client work. School runs. Sports clubs. Marketing. Dinner. Laundry. Remembering who needs what on which day.

So when a great idea arrives, we're often trying to capture it while standing in a supermarket queue, waiting outside swimming lessons, or sitting in the car before school pick-up.

No wonder our ideas end up scattered across notebooks, phones, WhatsApp voice notes and the backs of envelopes!

The funny thing is that some of the best business ideas often arrive in the middle of everyday life. Not when we're sitting at our desks trying to be productive, but when we're being mums, taxi drivers, organisers, cooks, and everything else we're expected to be.

If you've ever lost a notebook full of ideas, forgotten where you saved an important document, or spent 20 minutes searching for something you put somewhere "safe", please know you're in good company. 😂

That's exactly why I created a community for women who are building businesses around real life, family life and all the chaos that comes with it.

Come and join us in the free Superwoman Solopreneurs Facebook Group - you'll find the link in the safe place of the comments! 🤣

It's a place where women business owners can support each other and realise they're not the only ones trying to run a business with 47 tabs open in their brain.

👇 Tell me... what's the strangest place you've ever found an important business note or idea? 📖

(For me, it was a note on the back of a receipt in the door pocket of the passenger seat of my car! Where I don't even normally sit as I'm usually the driver!! Go figure?) 😋

"Successful people prepare the night before..."

Meanwhile, I'm sitting at my desk having just remembered it's World Book Day at 8:12am. 🙄

If you're a mum running a business, you'll know this feeling.

It's not because you're disorganised.

It's because your brain is carrying approximately 7,432 things at any given moment.

Client deadlines. School letters. Packed lunches. Football kits. Marketing plans. Parents' evening. Invoices. Dinner. Dentist appointments. Birthday presents. That permission slip you've been meaning to sign for three days...

And somehow you're meant to remember that today your child needed to arrive at school dressed as a fictional character….

The mental load of running a business and a family at the same time is enormous.
So if you've ever turned up to school on non-uniform day with a child in full uniform, forgotten a costume requirement, or answered emails from the side of a sports field...
welcome to the club.

You're not failing.
You're just doing the job of about five people simultaneously.🤣

❤️ Being a Superwoman Solopreneur isn't about having it all together. It's about keeping all the plates spinning, laughing when one falls off, and knowing you're not the only one.

There's no need to feel alone. Come and join the Superwoman Solopreneur free Facebook community and surround yourself with other women business owners sharing the same juggle. The link is in the comments.

Let me know in the comments...what's your most memorable "mum brain meets business owner brain" moment? 👇😂

Had an operation the other day…

I developed a second hernia a few years ago, and it finally got fixed on Thursday! Woo hoo! 🎉

The staff at County Hospital in Stafford were absolutely amazing. I was so well looked after there, and now am being very well looked after at home. 🥰

I've now got a weird couple of weeks ahead though, as I can't drive….so I've made a plan!

Assuming I continue to feel OK (apart from a tender tummy, obvs!) I have some exciting plans for the rest of this weird fortnight. Because I'm gaining time I don't normally get…

As I now can't drive, it means I can't do school runs, dance drop-offs/pick-ups, food shopping trips, or any of the other chauffeuring jobs I regularly have. I reckon this equals at least an hour each day, sometimes more. (And for those of you shouting at social media telling me to rest - I am, I promise! All these plans can be done from the comfort of my armchair. And I did give myself the day after the operation off (apart from a group coaching program I had to join for 90 minutes!) but very soon got bored watching TV!).

So, I'm going to use the next two weeks to catch-up. On books I've bought but not read and on training courses I've bought but not even opened.

I'm also refining my business plan, getting ahead with my social media, putting AI through its paces to see how it can help my work-life balance, writing some blogs, setting up the new tech I've got and generally having fun getting my business next-level ready.

I'll also be going daily walks as soon as I feel up-to-it, as I don't want to lose the fitness I've been building recently.

I've always been the person who looks for a silver-lining - so with my rose-tinted glasses on I'm celebrating now being hernia free and being gifted some valuable time to catch-up and get ahead at the same time. To me, that's a definite win! 💖

📢Announcement - I now have a second brain!

Ok, I admit - some days it's doubtful whether I actually have a first brain! When I put the milk in the cupboard and the biscuits in the fridge instead of the other way round. Or when I forget it's No Uniform Day. Or realise I'm not in my running trainers half way to the gym! 😋

But there is a bit of a brain in there somewhere - I think? 🤣

Over the Bank Holiday weekend I was on a 3-day AI course. Yes, I know - when you run a business work never stops!

But the good thing is, I now have a second brain working on my business… 👍

I've still got a bit of setting up to do on it, and it'll have a bit of learning to do after that - but I'm excited to see what it can do.

I already use AI, but this recent training has showed me how I can take it up a notch.

Have to say though, there's still a part of me that's not sure about it. If I'm honest, I'm terrified of it and excited by it at the same time. 😱

But as a business owner, not taking advantage of it when others are will just leave me behind…and I can't take that risk!

And as a woman business owner trying to work my business around family commitments (it's currently half-term, so I'm busy juggling work and kids again, feeling like an unpaid Uber driver! 🙄), being able to automate tasks and get my AI team to take some of the strain will be a huge help.

So, where are you on your AI journey? Sticking your head in the sand and hoping it goes away, or embracing the good in it to help you move your business forward quicker?

I used to love Bank Holidays - but not for the normal reasons. 😎

When the kids were smaller and my business was more 1:1 client-facing work and less passive income, Bank Holidays were a relief.

Why? Well, because the kids were off-school but most of my clients were also on holiday - so I didn't feel the pressure of juggling being a kids entertainer and business owner. I could just truly enjoy the family time.

It's the same reason that Christmas was also a favourite holiday period. 🎄 All my clients closed for the Christmas period, so I didn't have to keep checking emails or trying to take phone calls whilst I wasn't officially in the office.

When you're a parent with kids off school on a normal work-day, you feel guilt from both sides. Guilt that you're not 100% present with your kids, and guilt that you're not there for your clients and customers. 😔

That's one of the reasons why I love passive income. Once it's set-up, any work I do on it is on my schedule - not traditional 9-5 hours….. which is why it works so well for parents trying to juggle work during the holidays.

If passive income is on your radar but you don't know where to start, follow my socials as I've got something very exciting coming soon that will help you get off the starting blocks. 🏃‍♂️‍➡️

For now though - the kids are off school, so we're off to do something fun together whilst the sun is shining! 😎

Whatever you're up to today, have fun! 🎈

Your mess is your message. 💫The thing you’re struggling with right now? The thing you wish someone had taught you sooner...

Your mess is your message. 💫

The thing you’re struggling with right now? The thing you wish someone had taught you sooner? The thing that’s felt hard, emotional, frustrating or overwhelming?

That could become the exact thing that helps someone else.

So many successful passive income streams (and businesses) are built from lived experience.

✨ The mum who figured out how to meal plan on a budget
✨ The business owner who finally got organised after years of chaos
✨ The teacher who created resources to save time
✨ The woman who learned how to market her business around family life
✨ The person who turned burnout into boundaries and better systems

People don’t just buy information.
They buy shortcuts.
Support.
Understanding.
Someone who gets it.

And often, the people best placed to help are the ones who’ve actually BEEN through it.

Your experiences could become:
💫 A simple PDF guide
💫 A checklist or template
💫 A mini course
💫 A workshop
💫 A membership
💫 A recorded training
💫 A digital toolkit

That thing you’ve learned the hard way? Someone else would gladly pay to learn the easier way.

And the beautiful thing about passive income is this - you create it once, but it can keep helping people, and earning money, again and again….

Don’t underestimate the value of what you know just because it became normal to you. Turn it into something that can benefit you and your family - and others too! ❤️

When it comes to patience, we don't always have as much of it as would be helpful….😅

😔We want the marketing to work immediately

😔We want the weight to disappear overnight

😔We want to be fit after just a few gym sessions

😔We want passive income to magically happen…

But anything worth having takes time.

👍Marketing takes consistency before momentum kicks in

👍Fitness takes repeated effort before you notice progress

👍Weight loss takes hundreds of small choices

👍Passive income takes time to think and create…

And that can feel frustrating in a world that’s obsessed with quick wins and instant results.

This photo is from my Couch to 5K progress today. 20 minutes running solid 🏃‍♀️

Now, that might not sound much to some people, but a few weeks ago I genuinely struggled to run for 2 minutes without wanting to stop! 😂

The only reason I got here was:

➡️ Starting before I felt ready

➡️ Keeping going when progress felt slow

➡️ Having guidance to follow instead of trying to figure it all out alone

➡️ Having encouragement on the days motivation dipped

➡️ Trusting that small steps still count

And honestly, I think business is exactly the same.

Sometimes the difference between giving up and getting results is having someone there to guide you, keep you accountable, remind you you’re doing better than you think - and help you keep moving when your motivation wobbles ❤️

Sometimes you don’t need a completely new plan. You just need more patience with the one you’re already building.

⭐Because if you never start, you never get there.
And if you quit too early, you never see what could have happened.⭐

Tiny steps. Repeated often. That’s usually where the magic is ✨

What are you working on at the moment that you need to be a bit more patient with?
