This is (Steve). One of those clients you finish working with and then quietly brag about for the next two years…

I’m writing this post instead because I got distracted reminiscing about how good this project was!

When Steve came to us, he had a great foodie business but his brand and focus was doing him a dirty. It was all too generic, too safe… the kind of offer that could’ve belonged to anyone flogging a sandwich or a buffet for your nan (no shade nan, he’ll still rock your shindig!).

We ran him through our Blueprint and found ‘the thing’. The specific, unrepeatable, nobody-else-can-do-this thing. Then we built everything around it the brand, the website, the voice, the look, the offers, the attitude, the plan, the whole lot, so the second anyone landed on his world they knew exactly what they were getting and exactly why they wanted it (and Steve knew exactly who he is!).

Check out his website too, there’s no boring buffet branding to be found!

Now he’s booked out, turning work away and charging what he’s actually worth. And importantly, confidently sounding like himself while he does it.

This is what happens when you stop trying to appeal to everyone. The Food Dude, Steve, you’re a legend. 👊

There’s a new kind of invisible and most brands are walking right into it…

Everything’s changed.

Tell me, are you feeling the shift????…

AI has made bad work look excellent. That’s the actual problem…

I just got Claude to write a brand strategy for me in 11 seconds. It was beautiful! But it was also sooooooo wrong.

Look, AI is literally extraordinary. I use it every day, no shame! I’ve said before that I run a significant chunk of my business through AI, and I’m not about to pretend otherwise,

But here’s what I keep noticing.
The content AI produces is polished, fast, grammatically flawless. It sounds like a brand.

But it doesn’t sound like YOUR brand.

AI is very good at the “looks-like” part. Tbh, it ‘looks like’ a strategy or a tagline or a brand voice. It ‘looks like’ an identity.
What it can’t do, *yet*, is the bit I actually get paid for.

It can’t sit across from a client and clock the thing they’re not saying. It can’t notice that the founder’s real story is the one they’ve buried three layers under the professional ‘CV version’, because they think it’s not the point. It can’t feel the room or spot the tension between what a business is and what it needs to become, and make a judgement call about which version that you’ve not even thought about to put on the homepage.

It can’t curate, it can only combine.

And curation, taste, the ability to choose the one right thing and bin the other nineteen… that’s the job. That’s always been the job, the deliverable was NEVER the words or the logo. The deliverable was the decision, the plan… the actual real life thinking.

So yes, the models are getting better, it’s really exciting! Yep, the landscape changes every week and yup, you probably should be using these tools (most of the people I respect are.)

But the thing making brands feel real isn’t the tool that writes the copy, it’s the person deciding what the copy should say in the first place. And no amount of model switching is going to fix a business that hasn’t done that thinking.

Polished is easy right now, polished is the floor.

The ceiling is still human.

Where are you on the AI thing, all in, hanging back, or somewhere in the messy middle? I want to know.

Tell me honestly: has anything you’ve made with AI actually felt like yours? Genuine question...

Social Rehab is back! Tuesday 12th May. Lincoln…

Last time and I ran our ‘Social Rehab’ workshop, something happened that I didn’t expect…

A little way in, people were turning to each other and saying some version of: “I thought I had to do it a certain way, I thought I was the only one who felt like this?!!?”

Turns out, a lot of smart, capable small business owners are quietly exhausted by social media. Doing the thing, posting the thing, watching the thing get seven likes, repeating.

And feeling vaguely like they’re failing, even though they’re working incredibly hard.

(You’re not failing. You’ve just been given a very inefficient set of instructions.)

Between us we cover the full picture about content that lasts and opportunities that actually come to you.

Because the businesses getting noticed right now aren’t posting more. They’re actually doing something quieter. Something that compounds and is significantly less soul-destroying.

FYI, this isn’t about quitting social media and burning it all to the ground, it’s about stopping it from running your business and your brain.

Over three hours, you’ll learn how to:

* Build visibility without living on your phone
* Create content that lasts longer than 24 hours and actually builds something
* Position yourself as the go-to expert, not just a prolific poster
* Turn what you know into press features, podcast spots, and real opportunities
* Be known for something, instead of just occasionally seen

You’ll leave with actual clarity, actual ideas, and actual next steps that fit your real life, not a content calendar that makes you want to lie down or hide in a box.

The details

📅 Tuesday 12th May 📍 ⏱ 3 hours 🎟 Early bird tickets: £85 - available until 26th April, or until we sell out

Spaces are deliberately limited, and we’ve already sold half to our waitlist! Head to the link 🔝 or comment REHAB

If you have any questions about whether this is for you or not, DM me and I’ll give you an honest answer.

But if sorting your visibility has been on your to-do since 2022, you’ll wanna be there x

It’s Matt’s birthday today.

My husband, business partner, the man who has spent years building things I dream up at 11pm and present as “a quick idea.”

He goes very quiet when there’s a problem. Then he fixes it. I don’t know what happens in the quiet bit and at this point I’ve decided not to ask.
Between the two of us, one of us has the vision and one of us makes it real. We’ve agreed not to discuss which is which in public.

As a birthday treat, I’m letting him out of the studio today.

Drop a 🎂 below and help me wish him a happy one. 👇

Yesterday’s Social Rehab workshop confirmed something I’ve been saying for a while now…
People aren’t inconsistent, they’re not “bad at content,” they’re just… exhausted.

Because they’ve been trying to do it the way they’ve been told to and when it doesn’t work the assumption is: I must need to try harder.

Yesterday was about breaking that and you could feel the shift LITERALLY happening in the room.

Emma said that halfway through something just… clicked.
Because she realised that she doesn’t have to do it their way, she can make it work her way
Which is the bit no one talks about.

A word came up a lot yesterday…
Longevity.
Not content that disappears or effort that resets every day.
Something that actually builds over time.

Josie came because she was just… done - with the pressure, the constant need to be “on” and with putting loads of energy into content that didn’t seem to go anywhere.
(AndI know that’s where a lot of people are right now.)

But she said she left feeling completely different and actually… excited again!

And that’s the point, we want to move from “here’s how to post more,” to “here’s how to stop wasting your energy on the wrong things.”

Because social media isn’t the problem.
And you’re not the problem either.

You’ve just been putting your effort in the wrong place.

One click and everything is a whole lot simpler.

Also, strong coffee and pastries were involved, which never hurts. Massive thanks to for keeping us fuelled in such style!

If you were there, thank you.
If you weren’t, don’t worry… we’re not done with this conversation yet!
and I are cooking up plans for the next one, there will be limited seats, if you want to be the first to know dates, comment REHAB below and I’ll add you to the waitlist x

Had that “surely this can’t be it” moment lately?…

Same.

Episode 1 of Who Told You That? is live and I’m unpacking social media fatigue, engineered burnout, and why you don’t need to sell your soul to lucifer himself for reach.

No deleting everything or pratting about on Reels, no pretending you love the grid or giving up hours of your week to becoming a social media expert creator…

Just a clever, efficient, slightly rebellious rethink.

Go and have a listen.

If you’d like to, thank you, links up top x

Most foodie brands don’t have a flavour problem,
They have a backbone problem.
Hear me out…

Great product, mid branding, zero point of view and then they wonder why they’re stuck competing on price.
Truth is, if your brand feels safe, polite and vaguely “artisanal”…
Nowadays, you’re invisible.

The brands that sell out and the ones people queue for, the ones that become cult all have:
– A clear stance
– A story worth repeating
– Packaging that punches
– Words with bite
– An entire identity that works in the real world, not just on Instagram

This is what we do.

We build brands that people don’t just like, they crave, they want more of and follow like loyal puppies.

Whatever you do, your brand needs to have edge and flavour, whatever industry you’re in, no one wants beige or bland.

If you’re done being the best-kept secret in your niche, or you want to know WHAT your niche even is!!…

We’re here.
We have a prove process to uncover all of the special stuff that only YOU can do, create the tools for you to get it ‘out there’ and then work WITH you to get you up to speed to do it on your terms.

Let’s talk.

This weekend I celebrated two years of no booze…

And weirdly, it hasn’t felt hard.

Not because I’ve joined the 5 a.m. club, or started journaling in moonlight. There was no breakdown, no rock bottom or “I looked in the mirror and didn’t recognise myself” moment.

It was just a switch and suddenly I stopped believing the stories.

The ones that said confidence lives in a glass, wine is a relaxation reward, and fun needs bubbles.

I just realised none of that was true, and it immediately lost its power.

It wasn’t willpower.
It was marketing.

Because you know what, most of us are living inside stories we didn’t even write.
We’re told we can’t…
…change direction at forty,
…run a business without burnout,
…say no without guilt,
…do things on our own terms,
…or be confident and own our space without something to prop us up, lipstick, likes, or lager.

Once you clock that those are just stories we’ve been trained to believe,
you start to wonder what else might be untrue…
and what else might be possible.

So I’m super proud of two years booze-free.
But really, two years of not swallowing the story.

I’m curious…

How many times have you reinvented your services because your brand didn’t evolve with you?

If this hits a nerve, sorry, but good, because until you stop building your brand around your packages (I’m looking at YOU!), you’ll keep rebuilding it EVERY TIME you evolve.

Follow for more straight-talk brand therapy.
