1] 48% of UK Adults are shopping more online during lockdown, buying products not purchased before online, often from new brands and providers but usually via dominant platforms: Amazon and eBay (Over 35s), Facebook and Google Shopping (25-34s,) Instagram (16-24s)
2] Digital brand showrooms will gain in importance, particularly for luxury goods brands who may have shunned this channel in the past
3] Rise in delivered gifts as surrogate for face-to-face contact across extended families
4] Retailers need to replace physical touchpoints in the customer journey with digital touchpoints, as quickly and effectively as possible
5] New consumer habits will have impacted Customer Lifetime Value calculations. These new habits need to be understood in depth and detail and factored into revised LTV calculations.
