Such a fun night of entertainment at the legendary Cat Asylum Brewing Co with Henry Normal and Nigel Planer Official. Thanks Henry Bealby - another Cat Asylum triumph. What a gem of a community arts venue this old ploughwright shed in Collingham, Notts, is.

For those who have never caught Henry N, (Co writer of first series of the Royle Family and Mrs Merton), if you love words, wit, wordplay, absurdity and the power and poignancy of poetry and prose, he is a must-see.

With Planer, who briefly resurrects his Young Ones alter ego hippie Neil, and celebrating the sartorial glory of corduroy, they present a contrasting but complimentary evening of story telling, memoir, jokes and even a song or two.

The evening ends with a Q and A. My own question was "We have had The Young Ones, is it time for The Old Ones? Sadly the answer was a very firm "No, that will never happen". Ah well...

Henry Normal is back in next year with one of the heroes of my youth (Dr) John Cooper Clarke.

Final Bow to a really great tour! These guys are the best of their genre and British audiences recognised that night after night in all corners of this country. It has been a privilege and very special to present these five extraordinary musicians - 11 performances in 11 days - working professionally, tirelessly and with warmth and good humour whilst clocking up more than 1,800 miles on the road. Bravo bravo bravo MARTIN ALVARADO and Gerardo Villar y Los Aguirre.

A full house, another standing ovation and such a warm and noisy audience at Ashburton Arts Centre in South Devon. This is a really lovely venue - a genuine and well supported community gem - and it was a great place for MARTIN ALVARADO and Gerardo Villar y Los Aguirre to end their 10-date tour on a high note. Well done to Andy Williamson who runs this arts centre practically single handed 👏👏

The guys really enjoyed playing for dancers at Tango Alchemy in Bristol last night - such a lovely friendly bunch of tangueros - thank you Eduardo Bozzo for inviting them and looking after them so well. The Hope Chapel had wonderful acoustics which suited MARTIN ALVARADO's amazing voice and the guitars of Gerardo Villar y Los Aguirre very well.
