You are going to die.

So am I.

That is not meant to be depressing. It is meant to be useful.

Because most of us live as if tomorrow has already been guaranteed.

We put off the trip.

The phone call.

The idea.

The apology.

The thing we really want to do.

We tell ourselves we will get to it when life calms down, when we have more money, when we feel more confident, when the timing is better.

But time does not make promises.

So maybe the better question is not, how much time do I have left?

Maybe it is:

What am I doing with the time I still have?

You do not need to change your whole life today.

Just stop postponing one thing that matters.

Make the call.

Book the trip.

Start the idea.

Say the thing.

Life is happening now.

Why are we often better at solving somebody else’s problems than our own?

Because when it’s our problem, we’re standing inside the emotion.

Stress, fear, frustration, doubt. They all change the way we see what’s happening.

When I was fighting, my cornerman could sometimes see things I couldn’t.

Not because he knew more than me.

Because he wasn’t the one getting punched in the face.

There’s actually a psychological technique that works on a similar principle.

It’s called distanced self talk.

Instead of asking:

What should I do?

Try using your own name.

Rob, what’s actually happening here?

Rob, what would you tell somebody else in this situation?

Rob, are you reacting to the problem, or to how the problem is making you feel?

It sounds simple, but that tiny change can create enough distance to help you think more clearly.

I’ve realised I’ve used versions of this in the military, in fighting, and now in business.

Sometimes you don’t need more advice.

You need to become your own cornerman.

Give it a try the next time your head starts running away with you.

And if you do, let me know whether it changes the conversation you have with yourself.

10/09/2026

Never decide the fight is over while you are still taking punches.

When I was a fighter, I learned that one bad round can make you question everything.

You lose your rhythm. You get backed into a corner. Every hit feels harder than the last.

But you do not judge the whole fight from that moment.

You make it to the bell, return to your corner, breathe, take advice, and adjust your approach.

Life works much the same way.

If things are really tough right now, you might not need to give up. You might need rest, support, a different plan, or one honest conversation.

Your job today might not be to win.

It might simply be to stay in the fight long enough to reach the next round.

What helps you get back to your corner when life hits hardest?

If someone you know is going through a difficult round, please share this with them.

09/09/2026

You do not need to see the whole road.

You only need enough light to take the next step.

We overwhelm ourselves trying to solve our entire future in one sitting. We want the complete plan, absolute certainty and a guarantee that everything will work out.

But clarity rarely comes before movement.

If life feels too big today, ask yourself a smaller question:

What is the next honest step I can take?

Send the message. Make the call. Write the first paragraph. Go for the walk.

You do not need to have everything figured out. You just need to keep moving.

What step are you taking today?

And remember, I believe in you.

I didn’t start doing these Perspectives because I wanted anything back.

I started them because I thought a thought shared at the right time might help someone.

That might sound small, but sometimes small things land when people need them most.

A bit of encouragement.
A different way to look at the day.
A reminder that they are not the only one dealing with life, pressure, doubt, or difficult moments.

What I didn’t expect was what it would give me.

There is a feeling that comes from giving freely, without chasing praise or reward.

It is quiet, but it is powerful.

It reminds you that you have something to offer. It reminds you that your words can matter. It reminds you that helping someone else can put something back into you as well.

That is why the saying, in giving we receive, makes more sense to me now.

Because sometimes what you receive is not visible to anyone else.

Sometimes it is just an inner feeling that tells you, keep going.

If this helped, please press like or share it with someone who might need it today.

You don’t have to wait for life to get easier before you allow yourself to enjoy it.

I think we sometimes make happiness conditional.

I’ll be happy when work settles down.

When I’ve got more money.

When this problem disappears.

When I’m less stressed.

When everything finally feels a bit easier.

But life doesn’t really work like that.

There will always be something.

A problem to solve.
A worry sitting in the background.
Something that didn’t go to plan.

And if we’re not careful, we become so focused on getting through the storm that we forget there are still puddles to jump in.

Kids seem to understand this naturally.

Give a child a rainy day and they’ll find a puddle.

Give an adult a rainy day and we complain about getting wet.

When did we stop noticing the fun?

Finding happiness when things are tough isn’t about pretending everything is fine.

It’s about recognising that difficult and good can exist at the same time.

You can be stressed and still laugh.

You can be worried and still enjoy your coffee.

You can be going through something difficult and still appreciate the people around you.

Happiness doesn’t always arrive as some huge life changing moment.

Quite often, it’s hiding in the ordinary stuff we’ve stopped paying attention to.

So today, find three things that are good.

However small.

Train your attention to notice them.

Because you might not be able to control everything happening around you, but you do have some control over what gets your attention.

If this helped you today, press the like button. It helps these Perspective posts reach someone else who might need to hear it.

And I’d genuinely like to know:

What’s one small thing that made you happy today?

Hard work works.

Not always instantly.
Not always visibly.
And definitely not always in the way you expect.

That’s the part people struggle with.

We see the result, but we rarely see the repetition, the mistakes, the early mornings, the late nights or the days where somebody nearly gave up.

Progress often feels invisible before it becomes obvious.

A bit like planting a seed.

You don’t water it once, stare at the soil and decide it hasn’t worked.

You keep going.

That’s what hard work really is.

Showing up when the excitement has gone.
Doing the boring bits.
Learning.
Adjusting.
Trying again.

One day of effort might not change much.

Hundreds of days of consistent effort can change everything.

So today, pick one thing that genuinely moves you forward and give it your attention.

Make the call.
Write the proposal.
Start the idea.
Finish the thing you keep putting off.

You cannot control luck.

You can control whether you show up.

Hard work works.

What is one thing you are putting the work into right now?

If this has helped, please like, comment and follow to ensure you don’t miss tomorrow perspective 🙏🏼

At some point, we started treating ambition like it had an expiry date.

20? Go for it.

30? Better get moving.

40? Aren’t you supposed to have it figured out by now?

50, 60, 70, 80?

Surely it’s too late to start again?

No. It isn’t.

In fact, one of the biggest advantages of getting older is that you’re not starting from scratch.

You’re starting with experience.

With mistakes you’ve already made.

Lessons you’ve already learned.

People you’ve met.

Problems you’ve solved.

Setbacks you’ve survived.

And a much better understanding of who you are and what actually matters to you.

So start the business.

Change career.

Learn the skill.

Write the book.

Pick up the camera.

Apply for the opportunity.

Have another bloody go.

And if it doesn’t work?

Good.

Now you know one more way not to do it.

Failure doesn’t have to be the opposite of success. Sometimes, it’s simply part of the bloody route there.

Your age isn’t an expiry date.

You can start at 20.

You can start at 40.

You can start at 60.

You can start at 80.

The important bit is that you start.

So, what’s something you’ve been putting off because you think you’ve left it too late?

Maybe today is a good day to prove yourself wrong.

04/09/2026

What are you looking for?

It’s a simple question, but I think it can change the way you experience your day.

If you wake up looking for everything that’s wrong, you’ll find it.

The rude driver.

The miserable weather.

The email you didn’t want.

The person who annoyed you.

And before long, you’ve convinced yourself that the whole day is against you.

But here’s the thing.

You can look for something different.

Look for the decent conversation.

The person who held the door open.

The small bit of progress.

Something that made you laugh.

A moment of peace.

The opportunity you have simply because you woke up this morning.

The world contains both negativity and positivity.

We don’t always get to choose what happens to us, but we do have some choice over what we give our attention to.

And what we repeatedly look for, we become much better at finding.

So tonight, try something simple.

Find three good things from your day.

Say them out loud. Write them down. Whatever works.

Just make sure they’re different tomorrow.

It isn’t about pretending everything is brilliant.

It’s about refusing to let the negative things become the only things you notice.

So ask yourself today:

What am I looking for?

Because you might be surprised how much changes when you choose to look for the good.

What’s one good thing you’ve noticed today?

STRESS ISN’T ALWAYS ABOUT WHAT YOU’RE CARRYING. SOMETIMES IT’S ABOUT HOW LONG YOU’VE BEEN CARRYING IT.

A glass of water is easy to hold for thirty seconds.

Hold it for ten minutes, your arm starts to ache.

Hold it for hours, and eventually it becomes unbearable.

The weight never changed.

The time did.

Stress can work exactly the same way.

We keep replaying conversations.

Thinking about tomorrow.

Trying to solve problems that haven’t happened yet.

Carrying work into the evening, and yesterday into today.

Then we wonder why everything feels heavy.

Sometimes the answer isn’t becoming stronger.

Sometimes you need to put the glass down.

One thing that can help is asking yourself:

What actually needs my attention in the next ten minutes?

Not everything.

Not the whole week.

Just the next thing.

Deal with that, then move on.

You don’t have to solve your entire life today.

You just need to stop carrying all of it at once.

What’s something you’ve been carrying for too long that you probably need to put down?

If this helped, give it a like, leave a comment, or share it with someone who might need to hear it today.
