Not every sign needs replacing.

Sometimes it just needs a bit of love.

A clean, a scrub and the removal of several years’ worth of whatever the UK has thrown at it. 😆

No dramatic redesign here.

Just looking after what’s already there and getting it looking smart again.

Sometimes, that’s all a sign needs.

Or, more importantly…

Meet the Dave.

Dave is our Technical Director.

Which sounds very serious.

So naturally, we asked him some VERY serious questions.

☕ Tea or coffee?
Used to be good old British tea. He’s recently turned to the dark side and started drinking coffee.

Out of a Yeti.

Sometimes even with oat milk.

He’s not proud.

🚗 First car?
A black Austin Mini.

The bodywork was so bad it could have been used as a colander. It had a skull-and-crossbones gear k**b, a racing steering wheel roughly the diameter of a Polo, and required constant revving to stop it dying at junctions.

The handbrake didn’t really work either.

(It didn’t last long). 😆

🤨 Most-used phrase at P2M?

“You want it by when…?”

Accompanied by a single raised eyebrow.

⛰️ Dream day off?
On top of a tor, hill or mountain with the family, and not another soul, road or building in sight.

😵 What drives our Technical Director slightly mad?

Deadlines.

Which probably explains the eyebrow.

Meet our swissQprint printer.

Glenn gave us a very thorough 2 minute 13 second tour of what this thing can do.

We managed to get him down to 24 seconds. 😆

And even then, we only scratched the surface.

Safe to say, it’s a serious bit of kit.

And Glenn could quite happily have carried on for another 20 minutes.

This bit never gets old.

Watching a print slowly appear.

Sharp detail.

Rich colour.

Clean edges.

And us standing there watching a machine do all the hard work. 😆

You stop being able to walk down a high street normally.

Wonky lettering.

A slightly crooked panel.

Six fonts where one would have done.

A tiny bubble in some vinyl that absolutely nobody else has noticed.

We notice all of it. 😆

Occasionally we do see a really lovely bit of signage and stand there admiring it for far longer than is socially acceptable. 😂

We were probably easier to live with before we started making signs.

Occupational hazard.

Don’t make people work out what you do.

It sounds obvious, but you’d be surprised how many businesses have a great name, a lovely logo…

…and still leave people wondering what they actually do. 😆

Your signage only gets a few seconds to do its job.

Bob gets it.

TYRES. MOT. REPAIRS.

No mystery.

Make the important bit obvious.

Then make it look good.
