Time to box off 2025
This one will stand out down the line. That final day at Goodison feels so long ago. Seven months on, the Originals are in a new home, with new prospects.
What started here five years ago as curiosity - discussing our culture, getting to grips with and exposing the fundamentals of the fanbase as we anticipated leaving Goodison, and celebrated Everton in a way we felt hadn’t been properly acknowledged - was a response to a culture rooted in family, long overdue conversations, heritage, obsession and identity - when our fan culture hadn’t perhaps been openly discussed in a way that now seems more en vogue / captured or marked at the intensity we see these days by photographers and fans alike, clamouring to preserve this fandom thing that we’re tied to, whatever the cause or goal. Football, and its connection to something rooted in authenticity, paired with fashion, is at peak levels, and the race to produce content seems never ending, be it authentic or not.
For the die-hards and newcomer blues, the quiet-pint traditionalists, grand old lady pushers, culture chasers, nostalgia lovers, fan channels, the purists and the posh-seat converts, the (h) and (a)s, South Stand Street End custodians - it makes up an evolving concoction of Evertonia.
Notable, collaborations along the way this year:
A thought for those we’ve lost in 2025, and a nod to the fans seeking the obscure, pure Everton nostalgia and heritage we love - without which this collective wouldn’t have continued. So, UTFT, and a Happy New Year.
