POSTER #64 // Her.
I've finally gotten around to designing a new poster for what is most likely my favourite film, Her. I've been sitting on a half completed version of this poster for a couple months, struggling to make something that I'm happy with. With the film being one of my favourites, it's quite tough to create something that, in my head, is worthy of the film itself. I finally picked it back up, and finally landed on an idea I really liked. I'm proud of this one.
Her is one of my favourite films, quite possibly my singular favourite of all time. It's an incredibly beautiful film that explores love in an undeniably unique package. I think people chalk up the film as a "romance" film, which is most definitely is, but it also deserves immense credit for it's exploration of non romantic love. It does an amazing job at showcasing platonic love, one of the only films to do so to this pedigree. The film is narratively, and visually, beautiful. Hoyt Van Hoytema does an exceptional job shooting this film. The film's beauty lies in it's seeming simplicity. While there may not be any "groundbreaking" shots, Hoytema's expertise really shines through in every shot.
