We’ve done it again 🎉 Boris in Blackpool has secured us as a Finalist for Best PR Campaign at the Prolific North Marketing Awards 2022!

Following the PM’s resignation back in July, our incredible PR team showed their teamwork, reactive abilities and unrivalled media contacts as they quickly arranged for the Boris waxwork to be transported from our client Madame Tussauds Blackpool Merlin Events Blackpool to pose outside the job centre.

The stunt gained national, regional and local coverage AND went viral on social media (more than once!) – but we’ll let the stats speak for themselves.

Another type of Queen has arrived in Blackpool! Yesterday morning we launched the incredible reveal of the UK’s first-ever drag queen wax figure at Madame Tussauds Blackpool.

We invited some of the biggest players in the press to capture the moment the iconic RuPaul figure was unveiled to the public, and we’re immensely proud to have already secured amazing coverage from national media such as London Evening Standard and The Times and The Sunday Times.

An incredibly successful morning for Influential and our client Madame Tussauds Blackpool Merlin Events Blackpool. In the words of RuPaul himself, ‘Yass Queen!'

Another week, another award shortlist!

We are thrilled to announce our 'Keep calm, the Queen is coming to Blackpool' campaign has been shortlisted for the Media Relations Campaign of the Year award at The PR Moments Awards!

The campaign saw our Consumer PR team bring Her Majesty - in wax form - to the seaside town for our client Madame Tussauds Blackpool. The team successfully secured coverage on a national and global scale, and we tracked overall estimated views at 7 million!

We brought the Queen to Blackpool!

Influential and Merlin, successfully brought the Queen - in her wax form - to Blackpool's Madame Tussauds, and are so proud of some of the results we achieved throughout this campaign.

The campaign aimed to build awareness of Her Majesty arriving in the North West seaside town, on a national and international scale. Consumer PR Director Jane Woodhead outlines how we achieved global coverage.

When it comes to creative PR stunts… take a bow Influential Consumer Team!

Our super creative team staged a real royal welcome for Her Majesty The Queen - her waxwork, that is, at Madame Tussauds Blackpool.

And it was certainly a day which will never be forgotten. With the media continuing to talk about it 24 hours later!

From the initial ideation, of welcoming Her Majesty to the famous seaside town in a horse-drawn carriage with Queen Livery, to her unveiling to the sounds of The National Anthem performed by a military band, it was a day never to be forgotten!

One passer-by even thought it was the real Queen and couldn’t quite understand when she didn’t wave back!

Regional, national and international media coverage followed, ensuring all eyes were on Blackpool for this very regal launch.
