According to Government figures, independent training providers were responsible for 60.6% of apprenticeship starts in 2019/20. This in comparison to 22.8% generated by general FE colleges, 15.4% by other publicly funded establishments (i.e. LAs and HE) and 1.1% by
schools, sixth form colleges, and special colleges.

This just shows how critical independent training providers are to the success of the apprenticeship programme.

Really love this approach to childcare from a client who has just set up a new day nursery in the Baltic Quarter.

Really love this approach to childcare from a client who has just set up a new day nursery in the Baltic Quarter.

Our motto is "We Live Love Learn Together".

What does this mean? It means we believe children's day care is an evolving process, a shared experience between staff and children, and one of constant growth.

So together we focus on developing common ways of enjoying the simple pleasures of life, like sharing a meal. And ways of approaching the challenges of life, like dealing with change and difficult feelings. Building resilience but also caring for the individual and prioritising wellbeing.

Register for our updates to find out how we incorporate this philosophy into the culture of our nursery and the care of our children https://thechildcareacademy.co.uk/

I’m nicking this idea and applying it to the skills sector. Come on - your two word horror stories for the skills sector. I’m going first with a retro one that caused thrills and chills back in the day... Apprenticeship Reforms.

From 'on mute' to 'no glue sticks', from 'reply all' to 'Code Brown', distilling your education nightmare into two words can be highly revealing...

Do any apprenticeship providers have an link to show live apprenticeship vacancies from national site on their own website?

These were the last photos Caroline took of herself, one day before she ended her own life.
Can you see the pain?
The misery?
The desperation?
No, no one can, it’s not visible.
When you’re checking up on the people you worry about, in this rollercoaster ride of a year, look beyond their latest selfie.
Don’t take their pleas of ‘I’m fine’ to be true, until you’ve delved a little deeper.
And even if they pass all of your check tests, keep reaching in anyway, just in case.
This year has been terrifying for so many.
It’s breaking the strongest of backs.
We need to reach in because people who are this low,
don’t know how to reach out anymore.

We are all in this together.
