Ready, Steady... STOPtober! 🚭

Planning your STOPtober campaign?

At Public Sector Media, we help NHS and public health teams turn national campaign assets into targeted local campaigns that drive real behaviour change.

Using audience insight, demographic data and geographic analysis, we identify the channels and locations most likely to reach smokers and encourage action.

🎥 Check out our stop smoking campaign with Sefton Council, which delivered 1.3 million impressions and exceeded campaign targets.

🚀 Big news!

Today marks another year since Southport lost three much-loved young girls: Alice da Silva Aguiar, Bebe King and Elsie Dot Stancombe.

At 3pm, our team will join others across the community in observing a three-minute silence in their memory.

Today, we also remember everyone affected by the events of that day, including those who were seriously injured, their families and loved ones, and all who continue to carry its impact. Their strength, courage and resilience remain an inspiration to us all.

While the loss of Alice, Bebe and Elsie will never be forgotten, their families have created powerful legacies through Alice's Wonderdance, Bebe's Hive and Elsie's Story. Through these initiatives, they continue to bring support, opportunity, joy and hope to countless others.

If you would like to honour Alice, Bebe and Elsie today, please consider supporting these causes.

Our thoughts are with their families, those who were injured and affected, and the wider Southport community.

🎓 It's time to celebrate!
Liverpool John Moores University graduation ceremonies have been taking place all week, and we've been proud to help the university celebrate its students' achievements.
From DOOH screens lighting up key routes across the city to a digital ad van welcoming graduates on their way to Liverpool Cathedral, it has been fantastic to be part of such a special occasion.
Congratulations to all LJMU Class of 2026 graduates from everyone at Public Sector Media. 👏

Tackling Child Sexual Exploitation…
It is a highly sensitive issue which needs a hard-hitting response.
That’s exactly what we are helping Merseyside Police and the Police and Crime Commissioner - Emily Spurrell do.

Yesterday, PSM joined Merseyside Police and Merseyside Police and Crime Commissioner at the launch of ‘Call It What It Is’.
A straight-talking campaign with messages direct to perpetrators:

YOU WILL BE CAUGHT
YOUR FAMILY WILL FIND OUT
CATCH YOURSELF AND STOP, BEFORE WE CATCH YOU.

PSM have taken the message to communities across Merseyside with a range of DOOH, including video and audio enhanced digital ad vans across the Merseyside area. The general awareness has been complimented with push notifications to devices, and exceptional audio ads on Spotify.

As part of our commitment to behaviour change, we are proud to support the police in this intervention on abuse.

As a Liverpool-based business, we're excited by the prospect of seeing the UK's first northern Prime Minister in 50 years.

Andy Burnham has consistently championed the North, advocated for investment beyond London, and spoken about the importance of building an economy that works for people as well as profits.

His emphasis on supporting businesses, strengthening communities, and delivering a genuine policy of care resonates strongly with us. Thriving businesses and thriving communities go hand in hand, and long-term growth depends on both.
Whether it's backing regional investment, developing skills, or creating opportunities across the North, it's encouraging to see these issues moving closer to the centre of national debate.

As a proud Liverpool business, we'll be watching closely and hoping for a future where every region has the opportunity to succeed.

Last week, we had the pleasure of joining Merseyside Police, and stakeholders at the launch of their new initiative - Operation Halo.

Halo Points are clearly identifiable, designated safe spaces located across key locations within Liverpool City Centre. They provide a place where anyone who feels unsafe, or at risk can seek immediate support, reassurance and practical help. Their visibility acts as a deterrent to offenders, while ensuring those who need help can access it quickly and discreetly. Each point will offer direct contact with emergency services via 999 and will be linked to City Watch CCTV, offering immediate reassurance and rapid intervention by VAWG champions or police officers for anyone feeling vulnerable or in distress.

PSM have been working with Merseyside police to spread awareness of Operation Halo by planning and facilitating a targeted media campaign including Digital Out of Home, a partnership with In Demand Radio, discreet washroom panels targeting women, and production and distribution of beer mats to key city centre venues.
