Kismat, great old fashioned indian food offered in a tiny part of Wirral. 😋

Bittersweet moment as the name brought back memories of Kismat Balti House. The name Kismet or kismat is an Arabic word for fate or destiny. It was meant to be for me to try it out, although when my dad ran a take away with the same name in one of the roughest parts in the county - Birkenhead North End. He failed but it won't stop me from supporting other local restaurants who love what they do and most of them try to make a honest living.

Some may argue that the days of curry houses are of yesteryears and it has lost out to trendy joints and other cuisines. But I do remember the days of working in them. It was fun and the people working tried to do their best and serve spicy cuisine with a smile. Hope these good old family run restaurants stay relevant and profitable.

There could be a reason why something happens, some businesses succeed and others fail. But I can assure you that I will trying and keep enjoying the delicious food this world has got to offer. Because I wasn't able to help get customers to my dad's businesd doesn't mean I can't continue helping other owners who have big dreams and ambitions like most of us.

Can't wait to try another food place...

I’m happy to share that I’ve obtained another certificate: This time its the Level 4 Award in General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) from DMA (Data & Marketing Association) UK!

Its like the experience of waiting ages for a bus only to find two busses coming at the same time in quick succession. But cant complain The Award in GDPR has given me a clear understanding of the main legal requirements and information to make sure our marketing activities involving personal data are compliant to the GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

So many things I have learned over the last few weeks including how to:

> Process personal data under the GDPR

> Obtain marketing permission

> Select the most appropriate lawful basis to process personal data

> Be compliant to the principles of data protection

> Notify individuals about the use of profiling

> Upholding the rights of individuals to control their personal data

> Store the personal data you collect

> Be compliant during cross-borders marketing campaigns

> Minimise the impact of a personal data breach and communicate it to the relevant authority as well as to the individuals affected by it.

So if you need any words of wisdom or advice on GDPR - do opt in by giving me a message or a shout to and I will do my best to help you.

Thanks again to Small Business Charter for their continued support to small agencies and developing easily accessible management courses that not only gives inspiration to business leaders but practical tools and templates for businesses to think about new ways of doing things in an ever-changing marketplace.

Learn why some businesses are more successful than others and how to set and work toward achieving your goals and more importantly develop strategies which will help your business strive.

Former Minister of State in the Department of Business and Trade Kevin Hollinrake stated that "I've met so many business owners who've benefited from Help to Grow: Management, and now with the launch of Essentials even more will be able to access the advice and resources they need to scale up and grow."

As a marketing leader wannabe, I am always on the lookout for inspiration on how to grow my marketing agency locally, regionally, nationally and eventually globally. So, I was really excited to see that Help to Grow had launched a condensed, online version of the course that I could access for free because, despite having completed action plans it was gathering dust, so I rightly felt that it was the right time that I could do with a refresher.

This quick 2-hour online course was perfect for me and BMIG. I completed the Help to Grow: Management Essentials course today and I really recommend it - either to do as a standalone or for a taster of the full course if you're on the fence about whether to sign up.

I've signed up and got the certificate, alas no t-shirt to prove it but I got the skills I need to create the ideal conditions for my team at BMIG to keep on growing and be delivering the best marketing that can be done.

Do you want to boost your leadership skills and your business performance? Or simply, If you want to consider new ways to approach your business, then this is the course (designed by the experts behind the Help to Grow: Management Course) for you! You can learn more and register for the course here: https://smallbusinesscharter.org/about-help-to-grow-management-essentials

Guess who I had the pleasure of spending my Saturday afternoon listening to today?

Here's some clues...

Clue 1. See the picture below, he stays mysterious under the alias of Zoom user 😆

Clue 2. He still is going strong, still is sharp as ever, and is only 93 years young 💪

Clue 3. He holds monthly closed Q & A sessions with NEXT MBA

Clue 4. He still brings up relevant examples of applying marketing theory to practice such as Proximity and AI which will play key role to future success 🔑

Clue 5. Always talks about creating value. Marketing is the act of creating and communicating value to a target audience at a profit.

Clue 6. AKA the Father of modern marketing...

Still not sure, anyway I can go on and on, so without further adieu it was the legendary marketer himself Philip Kotler

It really was insightful and I still can't believe the passion, love and respect he has for the subject called marketing, it still resonates with me from the very 1st marketing book I read so many decades ago!

No wonder all the other 550+ marketing professionals today were hooked on every single word he spoke. These mini online lectures were fun and it was great to see so many other keen marketing professionals- they literally represented the brightest and the best minds from around the world. 🙏

Marketing used to be a place for people who didn't like mathematics - but look at it now, its changed so much it not only requires art but science too. With so much advanced technology and data, marketing still places the human at the centre of everything. 👏

Lucky to have met him again 😊 and its been great to have been part of this great Marketing Directors Course with Distinguished Professor Philip Kotler 🙌

Thanks again for keeping me entertained, educated and pushing me to be the best I can be. 🔥

Sometimes in life, in work and in your studies, you have to risk the ordinary to achieve the extraordinary.

I'm so grateful to Cranfield University for giving me the opportunity to become the best marketer I can be. This marketing & leadership course is not for the faint hearted, but I can tell you it's jammed packed with the latest developments in Strategic Thinking and Business Research.

Big shout out to Prof Vasilios Theoharakis for convincing me to stay patient during the COVID pandemic and reassured me that this is one of a kind programme that brings in elements of senior leadership, management practice and marketing strategy together into one course and a very massive thank you to Dr Annmarie Hanlon who looked after all the students for the last 16 months and managed to offer us great support and guidance on becoming a scholar par excellence.

Support staff here are very supportive Aaron Bowers has exceeded my expectations and not only delivered my hoodies on time plus letting me enjoy to work hard, study harder and party to my hearts content. I even had time to help set up TEDxCranfield University

The teaching staff here knows how to beat the competition, I really enjoyed all the lectures and have applied lots of ideas back to BMIG (Bright Marketing Ideas Group) Ltd.

In a later post I will share some takeaways on key insights and best practices discussed with lecturers, but the following lecturers were inspiring, humorous, friendly and professional - no joke they really do care about us succeeding and passing our assignments and also know what they are talking about:

Javier Marcos Sharifah Alwi Marwa Tourky Dr Tamira King John Viner-Smith Lyn (Evelyn) Lanka (PhD) Dennis Esch Mengyi Xu Vasilios Theoharakis Michael Dickmann Dr Deirdre Anderson Sanjay Lanka Matt Wilkinson Professor Jonathan Deacon PhD Richard Kwiatkowski Dr Manjari Prashar Chia-Yu Kou Monica Franco-Santos Clare Kelliher JOE NELLIS Dr Annmarie Hanlon

Last but not least my fellows who have helped me with my studies, they pushed me hard to become the best, they shared some great insights and I was truly impressed with some ideas they came up with. I really do want to give a big round of applause to Tom, Sara, Faizah, Samantha, Andy, Asha and Will. I have no hesitation that they will continue doing great things. 💪👍👏🙏👊

If you are looking to become a true marketing leader, you definitely need to come and learn a thing or two at Cranfield School of Management or you will risk losing out on your dreams of making a positive change to your organisation.

More importantly believe in yourself in terms of what you can bring to the table. It's time to challenge the conventional thinking of senior management; become the real leader that not only helps build up the business through effective marketing and finding efficiencies, it's also about reflection and helping others grow and become truly great.

May this journey to extraordinary be the new normal for everyone ✨️ 😊 🙂 ☺️ 😌

Research, research and more research beats train delays anyday especially on a beautiful sunny day 😎

As Einstein once said, If we knew what we were doing, it would not have been called research, wouldn't it?

I'm looking forward to travelling on the dreaded west coast train again to Cranfield University to learn more about Research Methods and Consultancy.

I'm following in the footsteps of Von Brawn who stated that research is what I'm doing when, I don't know what I am doing.

So wish me luck on my learned travels my fellow scholars who knows it might not be my last trip to Cranfield School of Management 🙏👊

'Jodi tor dak shune keu na ase tobe ekla cholo re", basically this translates into English as "If no one responds to your call, then you go your own way".

Don't beg customers or businesses to love your products or services. I don't agree with the premise that we are all born as beggars, and this modern life is making us live like beggars for appreciation and profits, then finally die like beggars.

As Budda once stated don't be a beggar of love, life, and money. Be a donor of sharing best practices in business, love, wisdom and living a balanced life of work, learning and play.

Please don't beg for love, wealth, health and happiness. As the famous Bengali Poet/ Philosopher Tagore said love itself must be given as it is, it cannot be bought with money, friends, pity or even reason.

If no one wants to follow you in your journey to success and of continues improvement, don't worry just be happy. If no one can hear your war cry, then you simply continue marching on your own, at your destination to victory.

And deep down you know when there are things that ring true, people will listen and take notes because great people aren't always winners but great people are always correct.

So, as the famous Merseyside song by Gerry and the Pacemakers I'll walk on with hope in my heart and I know I'll never walk alone and my dreams will not be tossed and blown away. I'll continue to Dream BIG and Think BMIG.

Peace, love and don't beg for love.

I'll just drop the mic...

Definitely a great goal for 2024 and 100% agree with Sun Yi brand message about branding being all about the customers, so why wait?

Let's do it, do it now, like it good. brand it like you should.

My proof, my style, like my pictures and my brand pack.

Let's repeat guys.

Don't just brand it, prove it now, like it good, brand it like you should.

My look, my feel, like the brand personality and message me back.

Those who know, know the correct lines to the famous song. So try and make your marketing memorable. If you need help with marketing ideas pay me and contact BMIG, if not just keep it clean, don't treat your marketing team mean and aim for quality folks..

Time to stand out from the crowd in 2024.

Ho ho ho, it's not your typical happy-go-lucky holidays post.

I guess its the final nights sleep before Christmas and this year has been a period of celebrations. One certificate after another and this time two comes through the chimney. Both are from ILM and they are the awards in and along with and

On reflection, I have learned so much about myself and my team just by attending the sessions and received additional support and guidance on how to lead BMIG (Bright Marketing Ideas Group) Ltd. with great confidence.

I will retain this positive energy to push myself in the next 12 months to be the best version of myself and to all my connections and followers I really do hope you all have a wonderful and a Healthy New Year in 2024 with friends and family.

So to conclude my written crimbo piece; let's just make a wish for people in the Middle East as they truly deserve some peace ✌️ ✨️

Finally another feather to the cap along with extra letters after a name.

Attended a nice little graduation to round off a difficult week in work at Peel Park Campus. Super proud to be project management qualified and hopefully I can continue to make the right decisions on time and on budget.

The top 5 key takeaways from the CertHE in Project Management Consultancy course were:

1. Strategic Decision Making - I had to think and make decisions that aligned with overall business goals and project objectives.

2. Risk Management - I had to identify, assess and mitigate various risks and uncertainties that a marketing agency could face.

3. Collaboration and Communication - It's critically important to send clear messages to all stakeholders, especially in a large team based setting who have many unique skills and creative talents.

4. Leadership - Understood the importance to inspire and lead the project teams towards common goals in the fast paced world of marketing.

5. Continuous Improvement - It is never too late to start your studies. It's never too late to be the change because we are constantly learning and it's never too late to know you really are worth it.

As T Edwards said, "know your worth, you must find the courage to leave the table if respect is no longer being served."

Hopefully I can now go back and apply those theories in real life client scenarios. As this chapter ends, there still is many more chapters of challenges and even more learning. Because just like Leonardo Da Vinci - learning is the only thing the mind never exhausts, never fears, and never forgets!

Thanks to all the lecturers and support team at Salford Business School for helping me through the time has gone by far too quick.

Finally my dear Oxford, oops sorry - wrong one I really meant The University of Salford. Now it's time for me to get back to BMIG (Bright Marketing Ideas Group) Ltd. and work my socks off but I will truly miss my time here and I will always keep you and your red lion close to my heart.

👏 🙌 💪 👍
