Screen Printing uses a basic ink or no ink method to print, and so gradients and shading are extremely difficult using ink alone. If you want something with more depth, then how about trying halftones?

Halftones are just variously sized dots or lines spaced out to create the illusion of shadows and texture. The technique is commonly used in newspapers and magazines to make up their images and save on ink and printing. It is one of the easily defined features of Pop Art too!

These two are prints made from images of ancient statues. They keep their detail, but are made using only one screen and one colour each.

Most image editing software (Photoshop, Illustrator etc) has a built in halftone creator if you want to skip drawing the dots yourself.

Materials- Recycled card, vegan waterbased ink.

The colours for these polo shirts were custom mixed to match the teams logo. A tri colour print on the sleeve was made with super opaque inks to create a bright and vibrant design against the dark navy.

As with other work, I used waterbased inks for better environmental impact and increased longevity of the finished prints.

Hi all! Just a quick update to let you know that polo shirts are now available. They are 100% cotton shirts in a variety of colours.

As with all other prints, they can be printed using vegan water based ink! These are great as work shirts, and can be printed with chest, sleeve and back logos.

One of my biggest goals with screen printing is to keep it eco friendly. The textiles industry is one of the biggest pollutants and causes of environmental damage.

Here's a little more on how I am working to achieve a more environmentally friendly service. After all, we don't have another planet!
