Small Business Week 1 - 7 June

I’m proud to recommend the Entrepreneurs Circle Small Business Map, a powerful way to showcase your business.

Small Business Week 2026 shines a spotlight on the independent cafés, studios, trades, shops and service providers that fuel communities across the UK. Every pin on this map represents a real business with a real story, the kind of passion, grit and dedication that keeps our economy moving.

If you’re a small business owner, make sure you’re on the map.
It’s a simple but meaningful way to highlight what makes your business special and help more people discover what you do.

Because behind every pin is a person building something remarkable — a livelihood, a legacy, and a dream worth celebrating. 💫

This isn’t just a map. It’s thousands of stories. Back Britain’s small businesses. 🇬🇧

Small Business Week 2026 brings together the businesses powering communities across the UK.

Every pin marks a real business helping drive the UK economy, from local cafés to independent studios, trades, shops, and services.

Use the map to discover small businesses across the UK, all in one place. Business owners get your business on the map if you haven’t already!

🌞🐾 Marketing in the Wild — Office Edition
It’s been a little too hot to head out on adventures with my four legged coworkers this week, but that doesn’t mean things have slowed down. While the paths have been sizzling, the office has been buzzing.
We’ve been deep in creation mode, building new websites, shaping fresh content and putting together lesson plans for an upcoming client workshop on how to set up and use social media to promote their business.
And honestly, this is the perfect reminder of just how powerful social media is in today’s marketing landscape. It’s not just a place to post pretty pictures , it’s where your brand finds its voice, your audience finds you and your story becomes something people want to follow. Whether you’re a small local business or a growing brand, showing up online with clarity and confidence can be the difference between being seen… and being forgotten.
So, while the sun has kept us indoors, the creativity hasn’t cooled down one bit. Sometimes the wildest marketing happens right at your desk, ideas sparking, strategies forming and plans coming together that will help businesses shine long after the heatwave passes.
More adventures (and more dog coworkers) coming soon!

Today’s Marketing in the Wild episode comes with a very special coworker… Odie!
Yes , the world’s fluffiest project manager joined me on Offa’s D**e Path to help film our latest vlog “Stay Consistent, Stay on the Path.”

While I talked branding, boundaries, and why your message shouldn’t wander off into the brambles… Odie demonstrated perfect consistency by sniffing every blade of grass within a 10 mile radius. A true professional.

🐾In today’s episode, we explore how Offa’s D**e, a literal line across the landscape, is the perfect metaphor for staying true to your brand identity, even when the path gets muddy. Because whether you’re a business or a beagle, knowing your route makes all the difference.

🎥 Catch the full vlog and let Odie inspire your next marketing move.
Stay consistent. Stay recognisable. Stay on the path.

Today was another busy day for us.

With two coworkers in need of a trim and pamper at Woofterz DOG Grooming we made a little outing of it and headed to The Green now fully open and beautifully reinvented. Hard to believe that the last time we visited, it was a cold winter’s day and everything was still in the planning stage. Seeing it open, busy and thriving again was such a joy.

The boys were absolutely doted on by café manager Lois and spoiled with Dewkes treats, while I enjoyed a gorgeous bluemonday.coffee, a cheeky slice of millionaire shortbread and that unbeatable Tanat Valley view.

Huge congratulations to Helen Jones and the team — you’ve created something really special 🩷

I’ve just had the nicest morning out in Oswestry. It’s wonderful to see so many new things happening in the town and more shops opening their doors. Naturally, I had to pop into my absolute favourite stationery shop Meraki Colour the one that sells my favourite pens and all those other gorgeous bits I definitely don’t need but somehow always come home with!

Today I noticed that they print photos, so I asked about it. I was genuinely delighted by how simple it was, a quick AirDrop from my phone and within five minutes I had two beautifully printed and trimmed photos. Great value, brilliant service and such helpful advice. I left feeling really happy.

And of course, no trip to Oswestry is complete these days without picking up a pasty from perfect.pasties to take home. Those two places alone make the visit worth it. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

💙 Today’s Marketing in the Wild comes from the Llanymynech Heritage Area, one of my all time favourite places to wander. My four‑legged co‑workers and I found ourselves walking through a sea of bluebells, which might just be the best branding lesson nature has ever given us.

If you’re building something of your own, let the bluebells remind you be…

🌿 Consistent
💙 Distinctive
🌱 Authentic

Be consistent. Be recognisable. Be true to what makes you unique.

💙 Watch the full vlog for the full bluebell to branding breakdown and a dose of creative calm.

Watching Hel's Kitchen evolve has been one of those rare joys where you can actually feel the passion behind the progress. Every new step at The Green shows just how much dedication, vision and love has gone into building something special for our community. It’s been both an honour and a pleasure to support this venture and to stand behind a local business that truly deserves every success coming its way. Thank you for the journey so far…here’s to everything still ahead!

🌿 Introducing Our Next Chapter 🌿

Today marks an exciting new beginning…

We are proud to bring together two passions under one vision — Hel’s Kitchen and The Green.

At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief:
beautiful food, thoughtfully made, using the very best local ingredients.

✨ Hel’s Kitchen continues to grow as our wholesale kitchen, creating fresh, handmade sandwiches, baguettes, salads and sweet treats — crafted daily and delivered to our wonderful stockists.

✨ The Green is our café home — a place to slow down, enjoy barista coffee, indulge in homemade cakes, and gather with friends (dogs very much welcome 🐾).

Together, they represent more than just food…
They represent community, sustainability, and a deep love for what we do.

🌐 We are also delighted to invite you to explore our new look website — a true reflection of our journey, our values, and everything we offer, go and take a look www.hels-kitchen.co.uk

A heartfelt thank you goes to Anne-Marie Catling-Hughes from www.amazingmarketingcreations.co.uk for bringing our vision to life so beautifully — your creativity and support have been invaluable.

From locally sourced produce to recyclable packaging and a commitment to supporting Welsh suppliers, we are building something we truly believe in — for today and for the future.

🤍 Whether you’re grabbing lunch on the go or joining us for a relaxed coffee at The Green, we’re so grateful to have you with us on this journey.

This is just the beginning…
