We’re thrilled to announce the addition of a new member to our team! Meet Richard Bamfo. A graduate from Portsmouth University with a Marketing degree in 2019. He has 3 years of digital marketing experience, with project success working across Facebook and Amazon PPC for ecommerce brands. He has a strong creative side and loves seeing his marketing ideas turned into reality. Something interesting we’ve noticed with Facebook Ads.👀

We’ve noticed something interesting - or perhaps a little concerning - happening with Facebook’s attribution method recently:

1. We switch off a poor performing ad set with a high CPA

2. When we check back hours or days later, we see attributed conversions for that ad set have increased (sometimes significantly), with CPA typically lower than the remaining live ad sets. In one instance, we saw attributed CPA drop from £32 over a 7 day period, to £18 - overnight.

It’s more than likely that these are latent conversions, combined with Facebook modelling conversions where it is unable to track users. However, nonetheless concerning and cements Incaloop’s argument that reliance on platform reporting alone is not an accurate way to view performance. Yep, it’s really that simple.

Asking yourself these 5 questions ahead of planning any marketing activity will ensure you have a well thought though and considered plan in place.

🙋🏻‍♀️WHO - who are you wanting to speak to? Who is your target audience or ideal customer? What do they do? How old are they? What do they like? How old are they? Where do they shop?

📣 WHAT message do you want to communicate? Is it a product launch? An opinion piece? Thought leadership?

⏰ WHEN do you want to speak to your target audience? Is there a time, day or period that is more likely to resonate with your audience? Should your campaign run alongside an event or launch?

📍WHERE are you going to find your target audience? Which online environments are they most likely to use? Which are most relevant to the message you want to communicate? Can you afford to target them both online and offline? If so, what media do your target audience consume and when?

✏️ HOW will you communicate your message? Is it best communicated via a video or audio message? Is it a long form piece of content like a brochure that you’d like people to download? How you communicate your message will determine WHERE you place it eg) an audio ad would be best suited to a podcast or radio placement.

Say hello to Incaloop’s new intern, Ellen Campbell. Ellen has joined the team after completing her final year at Canford School in Dorset. Having developed an interest in the world of digital marketing, Ellen has joined Incaloop for an exciting summer internship before she heads off to study Modern languages at Durham University.

Aside from a growing desire to plunge headfirst into the digital depths with Incaloop, Ellen enjoys singing and playing guitar, reading, yoga and exercise, and had set herself the substantial challenge of learning Arabic to occupy herself during lockdown. Both musical and artistic, Ellen is looking to bring her creativity into her burgeoning work life.

With the current worldwide situation being one of huge uncertainty, Ellen has expressed excitement in grasping the opportunity to gain some valuable experience within the Incaloop Team.
