At WildKat PR, we’re proud to be a team that values the different experiences, perspectives and stories that shape the work we do. We’re taking a moment to reflect on the importance of support, connection and care during the early days of parenthood. 🩷

Our Marketing Director, Hana, and our Founder, Kat have kindly shared their reflections on breastfeeding, early parenthood and the importance of support during these moments of change.

“Double mastitis, severe tongue-tie, clogged ducts, hospital grade pumps, pink milk and constant pain for 2 months didn’t stop me. It was the support and kindness of my breastfeeding support worker telling me the simple words - happy mama, happy baby - that made me realise that sometimes, things just don’t work out and it’s not because I failed! Second time round with my youngest kid, it was a totally different journey - a kid that just wouldn’t take no for an answer. Again, the NHS support workers and midwives were absolutely wonderful with their patience, support and expertise.” - Hana, Marketing Director.

“I was back online for work within two hours of giving birth, figuring out nice outfits weeks later, driving while pumping, calling clients while pumping. My staff knew the sound well. I once spent so long in an airport bathroom that security flagged me as a potential bomb threat. I know the bond can be beautiful. I really do. But I also think we spend so much energy worrying about what other people think — and not enough listening to what feels right for us. The second time around, I stopped caring about perception. I knew what I was doing. I was just more myself.” - Kat, Founding Director.

The early days of parenthood can bring many new experiences and challenges, and it’s important that new parents feel supported not only at home, but also in the wider spaces and communities around them.
The Breastfeeding Network (UK)’s Breastfeeding Friendly Scheme helps organisations create more welcoming and supportive environments for breastfeeding families. 👩🏽‍🍼👩🏻‍🍼👩🏿‍🍼

In 2020, we worked with the talented Turkish classical pianist and composer Aysedeniz Gokcin to promote her recording 'MOTUS' through a Playlisting and PR campaign.

Our playlisting strategy focused on landing recurring features on DSP editorial playlists across the release schedule.

We successfully secured editorial features on playlists such as 'Classical Sleep', 'Piano Chill', 'Piano Study', and 'New Music Friday:Turkey'.

These playlist features resulted in over 5 million streams during our work, and over 85,000 monthly listeners on Spotify in just one month!

Today, we’re proud to highlight the artistry of Elena Stikhina, one of today’s leading international sopranos, acclaimed for her compelling dramatic roles and exceptional vocal technique.

The renowned soprano will perform in two prominent European festivals this August, starring in 'Madama Butterfly' at the Festival Puccini Torre del Lago and Verdi’s 'Un Ballo in Maschera (A Masked Ball)' at the Edinburgh International Festival.

These upcoming engagements continue a strong run of recent performances across leading stages, including the Bayerische Staatsoper, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, Philharmonie de Paris, and Opernhaus Zürich.

🗞️ Out Now! The Harper's Bazaar UK September issue cover story features Cate Blanchett, as she prepares for Electra / Persona, which also stars Nina Hoss and Ella Lily Hyland, directed by Benedict Andrews

The National Theatre production blends Sophocles’ Electra with Ingmar Bergman’s 1966 Persona, bringing together the tragedy of a daughter consumed by grief with the unsettling story of an actress and the nurse drawn into her world. At each performance, the roles of Electra/Elisabeth and Clytemnestra/Alma will be swapped by Blanchett and Hoss, decided nightly and by chance prior to the performance starting.

“I’ve never done that before,” Blanchett tells Harper's Bazaar UK. “I always feel engaged and responsible for the whole, not just the character I’m playing. I guess this is a wild extension of that. We might find ourselves on the floor playing one role and the other person might make a suggestion, and then you continue the rehearsal with the other person playing that part.”
