Having endometriosis changed my life ๐
That chubby kid on the left? That's me, back in summer 2020.
Ever since I was a little one, I've carried some extra weight, and, you know what, my classmates and even some family members made fun of me sometimes. ๐
But then, in 2018, something big happened. I found out that I had a serious health issue called severe recto-vaginal endometriosis, and I'd been living with it for years without even realising it. ๐ฒ
My doctor suggested a pretty tough 6-month hormonal treatment. It made me feel terrible:
โ
I couldn't sleep properly.
โ
I had constant hot flashes, menopause style.
โ
My moods were all over the place.
โ
Plus, I put on a bunch of weight real quick.
But you know what? The treatment didn't even help. So, I ended up having 2 major surgeries to remove those trouble-making lesions from my organs.
Fast forward to November 2020, just 4 months after I took that photo on the left. I was determined to make a change:
1๏ธโฃ I started working out regularly (like 3-4 times a week).
2๏ธโฃ I also decided to change up my eating habits.
It wasn't easy at all because I'm a big food lover. But, I thought about my health โ you see, there's a history of high blood pressure and diabetes in my family. So I refused to let another illness ruin my life โ.
So, I kept at it, and little by little, I saw the results of my hard work. You know what they say, "Hard work pays off" ๐ฏ.
I'm sharing this part of my life with you to inspire you and tell you that:
โ
You're not stuck when life gets tough.
โ
You can train your mind to be strong.
โ
You can take little steps to reach your goals.
And always remember, God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers. ๐ช๐พ
