What is the problem in today’s online marketing playground?
Well, simply put, online campaigns focus on everything, everyone and everywhere when they get out. In the good case scenario, 95% of your visitors will never convert into a customer. The reason is not that the marketing is bad or that the visitors are some confused consumers who don’t know what they want, it’s that the message is not tailored for them and they don’t care.
So, here comes personalisation, an obvious way (but not simple), to speak to the right people at the right time, people that care about what you have to offer to them. For example, when you go to purchase something from Amazon, they already know what you want. So, the show you what you want to see, and that works, both ways.
That is why marketing is going to become a personalised experience, or it won’t be effective. Considering how expensive ads and other marketing costs have become, it’ll be wiser for every company to find ways to convert this 95% of visitors and make them come back than to go looking for their friends.
