Stationery gives us the tools to dream. But it also gives us the tools to turn those dreams into something real.
The first image is a small sketch I made months ago: an early vision for what I called a “pattern interrupt” in Stationery Icons. A bold double-page spread that would sit between chapters, giving the reader a moment to pause, reset and prepare for what comes next.
A kind of visual palate cleanser.
And then, eventually, the sketch became the second image.
There is something deeply satisfying about seeing a rough idea, drawn with a Stabilo highlighter on a page of my diary, brought to life in the finished book.
Ideas begin as marks on paper. Sometimes, if you keep going, they become something solid, beautiful and real.
