If you haven't already heard, the power of Gen Z appears to have put TikTok on top of the internet, with the social media app overtaking Google as the most popular website of 2021.

This should provoke the idea of using Tiktok for business needs such as marketing and branding.

In an article by verge: “Instagram has added another strikingly familiar feature to Reels: the ability to add a user comment to a video (via TechCrunch).”

Is tiktok shopping the new place to sell?

“TikTok is venturing into the world of online shopping. The video sharing app has launched a live event where users will be able to buy products directly on the platform.”

“Hosted by celebrity Rylan Clarke-Neal, it’s the first time TikTok is producing its own two-day event for a UK audience and will use influencers and music to attract users to purchase a range of different items.”

“The app previously held livestreams with retail brands during Black Friday and now it’s hoping this major move will help cement its place in the online retail space.”

Twitter is the latest platform to test a TikTok copycat feature

Twitter posted today that it’s testing a feature that would turn its in-app “Explore” page into a TikTok-like video feed, complete with even a “For You” tab. This feature is being tested on both Android and iOS for users in certain countries who use Twitter in English.

“We’re testing out a revamped, more personalized Explore page to make it easier for you to unwind, find new interests and see what’s happening,” a Twitter spokesperson told TechCrunch.
