Making this film for Hertsmere Borough Council was a joy. It showcases over a hundred years of film and television history, which lives in this borough. Elstree Studios gave the world Star Wars, Indiana Jones, The Shining, The Crown, and Strictly Come Dancing, amongst so many others. Sky Studios Elstree, one of the most extraordinary studio investments anywhere in Europe, has already hosted Wicked, Paddington, and Barbie. The BBC has been making EastEnders here, continuously, for decades.
I have been based in Hertfordshire my whole career and I admit that I had become so accustomed to the beauty of the place, that I stopped truly seeing it. This film includes so many iconic landmarks and locations, including: Tyttenhanger House, Aldenham Estate, Elstree Aerodrome, De Havilland Museum, Reveley Lodge, Bushey Rose Gardens, Tykes Water Lake, Shenley, Radlett, Potters Bar, Manor Elstree Hotel and Boreham Wood FC, to name a few.
This is our home. We made this film with a great deal of pride, and I hope it does justice to a place that deserves to be far better known for the remarkable role it plays in global screen storytelling.
If you are a producer or location manager, planning a film, a commercial, a series, or a feature, watch this, and then give Hertsmere a very serious look!

Thanks to the production team at Bryant Media Group Ltd for bringing this one to life and to all the partners for graciously allowing us access to film.
Special thanks to the executive production team at Hertsmere Borough Council, especially Patricia Buonanno, whose deep experience of the creative sector and brand storytelling was such an asset. Also to Lesley Crisp for guiding the process and championing us as always.
