You aren't being 'SALESY' when you talk about your product or service. You're being a business owner. ⁠

Your content strategy is a giant waste of time if you aren't including promotional content. You certainly don't need to shove your offer down their throats and there are several unique ways to sell without actually selling !

1️⃣ Solve Problems⁠ :
Our favorite. Your target audience has a problem, fear, or pain point that your business is solving, right? Link those problems to your offer and show your audience how you can help alleviate said problems with your content.⁠

2️⃣ How-To's and Tutorials ⁠:
Product? Put it to action by showing your audience different ways to use it, wear it, pair it with something, etc. Service? Educate your audience with a helpful step-by-step how-to post to position yourself as an expert in your industry. ⁠

3️⃣ UGC ⁠:
User Generated Content. It's essentially using content that other people have created for your brand, and is especially helpful with selling products! If your product has been tagged in a post, re-share it! If you're ready to take your content strategy above & beyond, look into influencers to create UGC for you. This proves that other people use and love what your business, making it easier for more people to become loyal fans. ⁠

4️⃣ Storytelling⁠ :
An excellent way to sell your offer is to offer up a story that relates to your audience. Keep your relatable content entertaining or easy to consume and share. This will build a level of understanding & trust with your customer, making it easier for them to buy! ⁠

Your customers need to know what you have to offer if they're ever to purchase from you - talk about it ! ⁠

Okay, we do. You know the drill. We only dish out truth over here, and this is as honest as it gets. ⁠

The narrative these days is how people aren't seeing the same engagement as they used to. That's true, things are shifting.⁠

But it's not why your numbers are bad. ⁠

You are responsible for shifting your content strategy, and if it's not intentional, thoughtful, and rooted in the wants of your target audience, then you may need to change something. ⁠

It's noisy on social media. Do you have a content strategy that cuts through the noise and positions you in front of your audience ? ⁠

If not, it's time to stop blaming the algorithm and start focusing on creating better content.

Yes, there are updates galore, shifts with engagement, privacy updates, new features ... the list goes on and on.

The illegitimate 'gurus' start telling you exactly what to do and what not to do, and we're guessing it sounds a little like this : ⁠

- Post daily⁠.
- Niche down ... like, way down⁠.
- Content themes or buckets.
- Use trending audio⁠.
- Value-based content only.

This is what everyone is telling you to do, right ? Especially the individuals with a large following. You start to follow their advice, because they must be right if they've seen success, ...

Personal struggles, financial struggles, business struggles, whatever it is, ... they do not equate to failure. ⁠⠀

▪️ Maybe you're going through a slow season after the holidays ? ⁠⠀
▪️ Maybe your business is actually thriving, but you're struggling with the work load ? ⁠⠀
▪️ Feeling burnt out ?⁠⠀
▪️ Trying to keep up with the pressure to hustle + succeed ?⁠⠀
▪️ Perhaps you made a mistake and you're climbing out of it.⁠⠀

None of these can define the success if your business if you don't want them to. ⁠⠀

Growth is growth. ⁠

Your growth will not (and should not) look the same as your friend, competitor, or any other business.

Think about where you were three months ago (personally or professionally), and think about where you are now. ⁠

You've grown, right? (I'm not talking JUST $$$).

We're challenging you to enter your week with a different perspective on growth:⁠

❌ It isn't always followers⁠.
❌ It isn't always profit⁠.
❌ It isn't always direct conversions .

✅ Maybe it's people helped⁠.
✅ Maybe it's confidence gained⁠.
✅ Maybe it's productivity improved .

I know it's hard to celebrate your growth when your competitors look like they're 'sky-rocketing to a new level,' or your friends are 'building empires,' but your growth (wherever it is) is JUST as important and deserves the same amount of recognition.

You cannot compare growth. Please remember that. ⁠
As long as you're moving one foot in front of another, you're growing....and that alone should make you proud.

Let us help you. If you're struggling with content ideas this week, sit down and think about the follow questions: ⁠

1️⃣ What is your dream customer interested in right now? Can you create content that is directly related to THEM and not necessarily your services / product ? ⁠

2️⃣ What was the best performing post of the first have of 2023 ?⁠
Post it again with a new spin! Did you write a blog post or create a podcast that can be repurposed into social content? ⁠

3️⃣ What problem do you solve for your customers ? ⁠
Think about the solution your business provides and create content about that. ⁠

Content doesn't need to be mind-blowing and brand new every time you post.
That's going to led to burnout and comparison. ⁠

What you have to offer is enough, and people are ready and excited to see your content, ...⁠

In our most recent post, we discussed the importance of customer personas. Equally important and often forgotten are ‘negative personas’.

Negative personas are semi-fictional profiles of your less-than-ideal customers. These are people who are least likely to convert or are not a good fit for your business.

If you are unsure about your customer personas, creating negative personas can be a starting point.
