Vet needed!

We are looking for a vet who is interested in work in the charity sector working exclusively with felines. We are based in Waltham Abbey and have a centre that can accommodate up to 100 cats and kittens.

We are a registered veterinary practice with an on site surgery with facilities to undertake the following operations / procedures for cats who come into our care:
Vaccinations, speys and castrations, dentals, blood tests and surgeries according to veterinarian skills as well as management of our permanent resident cats with long term health conditions. A typical week would be around 15 vaccinations and a mixture of speys and castrations along with a dental.

This role is unusual in that there are no client consults, independent working (with an assistant and the cattery manager, who manage administration and technical support) and opportunities to develop skills and knowledge with the feline species.

We are looking for a veterinarian to work for us to the equivalent of one day per week. Hours can be split across days or done in one day. Must have a sense of humour! We are a friendly group with a love for cats.

May suit retired or those with young children as hours are flexible.

Pay negotiable and dependent on experience.
Start date September 2023

Here are a few easy ways to get insights into your customers and understand your audience:

1) Talk to current customers

It's a great way to understand why your buyers do what they do, their decision-making and buying process. It's an easy way to build relationships with existing customers while leveraging new relationships. Have a conversation with them and gain insights into pressing questions.

2) Continually test your messaging
⬇️
Whether emails, social media posts, web updates - keep testing headlines, opening lines, call to action phrasing, urgency, timing etc. Always check what worked best and produced more return, replies, purchases, email opens etc.!

3) Check your web analytics

Regularly check your website stats and gain insights into precious data about what time of day your customers are most active, what age they are, are they more male or female, their location, what brought them to your website (i.e did they land on your website through clicking a link from your Facebook? or did they find you on Google?)

4) Study your competitors
⬇️
Your competitors are most likely to have done some audience research too and alined their content strategy accordingly. Check out what they write about on social media, who follows them, what kind comments and questions they are asked.

5) Be present on social media
⬇️
Stick to a couple rather than many platforms. Choose those social media networks that are more popular with your audience. Prioritize quality posting rather than quantity. Engage regularly, participate in groups discussions. Don't just promote yourself all the time.

6) Attend local events and networking get togethers.

Your industry or niche doesn't matter. Comparing retention marketing/sales Vs. acquisition, it's proven that

▪️The probability of selling to an existing customer is 60 – 70%, while the probability of selling to a new prospect is 5-20%.

▪️ Existing customers are 50% more likely to try new products and spend approx 30% more.

▪️ Cost per conversion (sale) is lower when you sell to existing customers - your marketing cost is less. It takes a lot more marketing efforts to convert a new customer than a loyal one.

▪️ It's easier to upsell to existing customers.

👉 The reason for this difference is the trust your existing customers have in you. The special relationship and connection you build matters. People are more likely to spend on products or services from brands they trust and are loyal to. They will be keener to try new experiences and services too because they trust in the provider's opinion.

👉 Lead gen and acquisition are important for any business, but do you remember that a chunk of your marketing efforts must be focused on retention. Makes sense, it costs less, but generates more!

But you understand that this is important to have a social media presence.

Simplify your approach to social media content. Don't overthink what to write. Better focus on telling your true, unique story in posts that resonate with your clients' problems and interests. Are you feeling overwhelmed or too pressed for time? 🥺ALL THE TIME!

As a business owner, I wear many hats, just like any other fellow entrepreneur.

What I learnt through my own experience and experiences of other people who became clients or friends, or mentors, that time and physical and mental balance are so important in achieving goals. And that one the vital skills as a business owner is to learn not to lack time or constantly chase it.

In many attempts over the time to find the right pattern for me. Here's some of what find helps me focus and accomplish:

1) I exercise and stick to it.

2) I read to constantly to learn from others or get inspired. So important especially in marketing or any creative or holistic profession!

3) I outsource everything I know for a fact I can't do myself or will spend time unproductively and inefficiently trying to accomplish myself.

4) I always have time for family
