Are you a business owner who doesn’t believe you’ll find clients on social media?⁣

You keep churning out content (or try to at least when you remember), maybe you get some interesting engagement but no one clicks to book a call or get out their credit card? At the moment you’re relying on referrals (which is AMAZING!) but you want to be able to create content that sells!⁣

I spoke to someone the other day who said “I know I’ll never get clients on social media, they only come through referrals.” ⁣

I had to stop them and call them out. “Now, why would you believe that story?”⁣

Your social media platforms should be a window into who you are and what you do so that the right people find you and want to work with you. Otherwise, what exactly are you using it for…?⁣

I’m a firm believer in choosing to be profitable over being popular, as all too often I come across business owners who can get all caught up in the number of followers they have and fun content that gets the likes, but does it convert people into paying customers? ⁣

Social media can be an incredibly powerful place to target the right people, create awareness and build that know, like and trust factor to get people to want to buy from you. ⁣
It can be an amazing tool! You just need to learn how to use it in a way that works for you and your business. ⁣

This might sound like a no brainer but you don’t have to do everything just because you’re capable of it.⁣

You don’t have to be the one who manages your emails⁣
You don’t have to be the one who does your accounting ⁣
You don’t have to be the ONLY one who helps you reach your goals, or helps heal from heartbreak or trauma⁣
You don’t have to be the one who comes up with your whole marketing and social media strategy!⁣
You don’t even have to be the one who manages it 😉⁣

You don’t have to do it alone…I’m sure you CAN do all those things…if you had a bit more time, a bit more space, just a bit more information, one more free challenge, one more online course and then it will all be working perfectly, right?⁣

But you don’t have to. You can receive support! ⁣

So much of what I do really comes down to me helping you tell your story and get it out there in the world, in order to attract the right people you want to work with. That’s kind of what it comes down to at the end of the day.⁣

Which means you need to know these 4 things when putting together your social media strategy, or any marketing strategy⁣

1️⃣What are you offering?⁣
2️⃣Who are you speaking to?⁣
3️⃣Why does your offer benefit this specific group of people?⁣
4️⃣What’s YOUR story on how you got to selling this offer and why should this group of people be buying it from YOU? ⁣

Once you have clarity on this, coming up with content should flow naturally. And if it doesn’t, I would say always bring yourself back to these 4 questions 👆🏻⁣

Hello it’s been awhile! 4 months to be exact 😂 A little update from me…in total transparency, bringing on new clients, the excitement of the world opening up again and the fact that I hadn’t taken a holiday (minus Christmas) since last March all got on top of me and I felt completely demotivated to think about my own content. ⁣

My brain felt stuffed with so many things and I hadn’t created any space to be able to think about the content I wanted to share.⁣

This is a common theme amongst business owners and freelancers I realise. We let our own stuff go to the bottom of the to do list, forever getting pushed back. BUT I’ve now taken on more support in the form of a VA as well as some much needed proper time off and I feel like I have space again 😌 letting go of control and allow myself to receive support is something I’ve realised I can reallyyyyy struggle with 😂😅 but oh my god the difference it makes 🥰 I feel excited again about the direction my business is going in and no longer feeling like I’m just trying to get from one day to the next. ⁣

In light of this, my lovely friend and I have challenged ourselves to write a piece of content everyday for the whole month of October to not only be able to hold each other accountable but also to help one another practice receiving that support and to get back into creativity mode 😎⁣

At the end of the day, one of the most important things about social media marketing is consistency! It’s likely not everything I write will be great or even worthy of sharing 😂 but I’m just excited to get back into writing for myself again 😊⁣

Do you ever struggle to write a caption? Or find yourself completely out of ideas? 🤔⁣

We’ve all been there! Especially right now where maybe you haven’t left the house in a couple of days because work piled up and kept saying “after this task...”. You’ve been sitting at your screen with your hair in a bun and ploughing through work and in your head you think the most interesting thing that happened “behind the scenes” for me today was my trip to the shops...⁣

Let me tell you, your idea of “mundane” could actually be what makes your ideal client get to know, like you and even trust you. Enough that they eventually want to invest in your services! ⁣

Don’t put so much pressure on yourself to create content that YOU find mind blowing. To feel like they want to work with you, they probably do want to see what your to do list is and what advice you’re sharing with clients right now. People want to get to know the real YOU! ⁣🙌🏻⁣

Sometimes sharing that you feel like you have nothing to say because maybe you feel out of alignment right now or still unsettled with your routine is still actually something to say 😊 ⁣

The secret to success on social media is showing up even if it’s messy sometimes and sometimes that messy vulnerability might actually get you more superfans that gain more trust in you than your perfectly curated content...⁣let me know if you agree? 👇🏻

I’ve missed people! I’ve been really lucky to have friends around during lockdown and to have accomplished SO much over zoom with (including launching our first online course!) but being reunited in person yesterday at reminded me how valuable those in person connections are 🥰 stay tuned because we have some really exciting projects coming up! Already planning out our 2022 😜 we’re going to be taking over the content world!

Why do I love what I do? Believe me, there are MANY reasons, but one answer would definitely be that I‘ve met some amazing people who I’ve learned so much from and would not be having as much fun as I am without them. ⁣😊

I don’t exactly have work colleagues anymore, so I am so grateful to be able to catch up with other business owners on a regular basis, bouncing ideas off of each other, sharing our struggles and goals and generally just reminding each other that we’re not alone and that we believe in one another. ⁣🙌🏻

Special shoutout to who always reminds me what I’m capable of and lifts my spirits! There are so many others who have helped me along the way but I could be writing for ages ⁣😆

I’m just gonna come out and say it: I’ve messed up countless times in life, in my business and on social media. I’m far from perfect. ⁣

But I will also say this: I’ve learned so many lessons along the way. A friend said to me the other day “There is no failure, there are only lessons”. And I want you to take that same energy when putting yourself out there on social media. We are all human at the end of the day, everyone makes mistakes and no one is perfect on here, as much as it sometimes might seem that way. Showing up messy, still means you’re showing up, you’re moving forward and you’re learning. Please don’t let the fear of making a mistake stop you from doing that. I promise the confidence comes by doing! Also, as discussing in our week 2 of the Content Creator Academy today - being vulnerable and owning your mistakes is so often what helps your audience feel more connected to you. ⁣♥️

It sounds cheesy but we do only have one life to live as we are now, and erasers aren’t included, so let’s all pledge to love our imperfectness, shall we? ⁣

Are you asking your audience questions?⁣

Social media is great sharing and teaching, but if you’re really trying to create an engaged feed then you need to be creating conversations and one of the best ways to do that is through asking the right questions. ⁣

Something I’ve heard Gary Vee say is that he doesn’t read books to find out what’s trending and what he should be doing next, he reads the comments section under his posts. Because really the best way to get to know your audience is to speak to them! And when you want engagement you have to ask for it. 🙏🏻⁣
