Five curries, four soups, three laabs, two sai ouas and everything in between on this food crawl.

From the initial pungent mouthful of fermented crab som tam and the piquant ox tripe at , to the nuggets of fat residing in .thaicafe 's sai oua chased by a slurp of their comforting khao soi broth, to the penetrating combo of seafood sauce and raw garlic on the raw prawns at .pakin.thai before rounding off with their milk tea and durian ice creams, our journey through this delightful collection of Northern Thai menus in Hammersmith was a uniquely pleasurable experience.

Each restaurant has its merits and each is well worth a visit in its own right. There were many dishes beyond the above referenced that stood out, but I'll leave further details to - look out for his Time Out guide.

I was correct at the time, when a few weeks ago I thought "this might be the last T-Shirt BBQ for a while".

Galician blonde, sharp charred vegetable salad, mac and cheese and some smoked fridge-clearing sausage. Also working from home on a Monday and being able to have leftovers for lunch with a crispy chicken breast is a luxury I will forever thank COVID for.

I woke up earlier than expected this morning and had the motivation to start catching up on the last couple of months. It's been a streak of weddings, stags, trips, birthdays, etc. My dayjob responsibilities have stepped up a bit this year too, which has been a bit tiring in combination with all the weekend fun. It has been fun though! What an unforgettable year riddled with bucket list ticking and generally basking in friends and family.

In a calmer moment back in early August, I whipped up a BBQ of lamb rump, lamb fat toasties and this mustardy, sharp salad of burned onion, grilled spring onion, peas and chard.

Needless to say, the fried rice I made for lunch the next day was excellent.

I made this hogget Mandi in the pi***ng rain.

I find this photo of the rice particularly satisfying. It's the star of the show, having picked up all the tempered spices, BBQ smoke and fat from the cooking hogget shoulder.

Served with grilled courgette and green chilli, yoghurt, dill, parsley, peanuts and sumac.

Had it with this Potatoland Grüner Veltliner with a bit of skin contact.

Summer roast in Camber Sands

I think an unstyled photo like this does a better job of capturing the fuzzy drunken smokey haze of enjoying the summer with friends.

Dry brined bavette and pork belly, smokey salsa verde, vegetables grown by Seamus, spuds.

Had a wonderful weekend back in June with The Ghoul, his better half and some new friends. Barbecues, walks, enviously watching Glastonbury, a dip in the ocean, etc.

This is the only time the camera ate first the entire weekend and that's only because I managed to grab photos immediately as I put food down on the table.

This salsa verde broke my hand blender. RIP 🕊️

Finally I found myself with some time to look through my backlog. Getting married in less than a week and we can finally feel the admin burden lifting.

1. A fully loaded plate

2. Cycling back from with a bag full of oyster shells for our wedding. Huge huge thanks to you guys...I've had to do three visits!

3. On my stag do I was subjected to a Hot Ones style Mr. and Mrs. game whilst sitting on a stool in a mankini, to the pleasure of my horrid friends. Bizarrely, this might have been my favourite part of the entire weekend simply because it was objectively funny and they knew me well enough to know that I'd always wanted to try doing Hot Ones. So despite being grotesque it was also incredibly cute.

4. One evening returning from work late and in need of comfort. Faye always never fails.

5. delicious summer BBQ sharer for 2 which is excellent value at just over £50
