The movement is an in-house automatic calibre by IWC Schaffhausen, engineered for both performance and longevity. It features an impressive 7-day power reserve, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). Equipped with the renowned Pellaton winding system, it ensures highly efficient energy transmission, enhanced further by a rotor with a solid gold mass. With a refined architecture comprising around 250 components and a high jewel count, this calibre reflects IWC’s commitment to technical excellence and durability.

The IWC Schaffhausen Portugieser Automatic is a true expression of refined Swiss watchmaking. 🏁 A legend born for the track

The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona was introduced in 1963 by Rolex, designed specifically for racing drivers and motorsport enthusiasts. Its name pays tribute to the legendary Daytona International Speedway, one of the most iconic racing circuits in the world.

Over time, the Daytona evolved from a professional tool into one of the most coveted watches ever made — especially after its association with Paul Newman, whose distinctive dial variant became a true collector’s icon.

The heart: Rolex calibre 4030

In 2000, Rolex unveiled the in-house calibre 4130 — a major milestone in the Daytona’s history. Fully developed and manufactured by Rolex, it replaced outsourced movements and introduced several key improvements:

• Simplified architecture (fewer components, greater efficiency)
• Enhanced reliability and easier servicing
• Vertical clutch for smooth chronograph engagement
• Column wheel for precise start/stop/reset functions
• Approximately 72-hour power reserve

The calibre 4030 also features the Parachrom hairspring, offering greater resistance to shocks and temperature variations — ensuring exceptional accuracy in demanding conditions.

The legendary Rolex 1570 movement is one of the most respected automatic calibres in horological history. Produced by Rolex between the 1960s and 1980s, it powered iconic models such as the Rolex Submariner, Rolex GMT-Master and Rolex Datejust.

Beating at 19,800 vibrations per hour (2.75 Hz), the 1570 earned a reputation for its robustness, reliability and ease of servicing qualities that helped cement Rolex’s standing as a benchmark for durability and precision. Certain versions featured a date function (calibre 1575), built upon the same solid mechanical architecture.
