Christmas is not really fine for any poor pine that has been eradicated from the soil in this magical time.
And as we get to the market to purchase again for one more year the constitute tradition of the holy Tannenbaum (dope tune attached below) - I can’t avoid asking myself if with all the deforestation that the world is foreseeing, what we’re doing this?
Probably it’s because there are not going to be many more years at this temperature and so we got to enjoy till it lasts the beautiful dark green conifer, instead of adjusting already to the palms that would be probably more adaptable to the new high-rising temperature. Although this is not really the case, the smell of pine and the magic of the bobbles is just an irresistible temptation for your interior decoration.
For me this anyway sounds like a pretty new tradition. I remember back in primary school a young 9yrs old me protesting against my mother and grandma that we shouldn’t kill any trees during the holiday. And therefore we switched to the polyurethane green Christmas tree tuning in with the 90’s theme that was rocking at the time : “Made in plastic it’s fantastic!”
Somehow felt way better to offer the money to man that sells the pricey Christmas Tree in London fields than buying a recycled plastic Christmas tree on Amazon.
I envy the Swedish that they get all their decoration with a simple star on the window, made in paper that can be repurpose every year. I actually had mine that I got some years ago with my friends Julia and Klajd back in Stockolm… but It got broken during the last move.
Hope you guys are feeling tight and full of the Holiday spirit - even if that just means like for me to get a break from things!
See ya, B
