This month, at the request of a client who has been loving her work, Georgia travelled from Wales into London to present a full social strategy and ex*****on plan alongside the brilliant Tilda for a client who loves their energy and what they bring to the table. For Georgia, it was a particularly early start, packed trains, but – as always with our G – zero complaints!

This is the reality behind the results. Early starts, long days, and weekends, but always infinite mutual respect for our collaborators ❤️ we love them!

Planning documents, revisions, research, and showing up properly when it matters.

Georgia consistently brings energy, organisation and creative thinking to every project she touches. The commitment she shows to our clients is exactly why we trust her with the brands we work with.

Proud of the team. Proud of the standards. Proud of the results!

If you want a social strategy built with this level of care and ex*****on, message us.

January blues? Not us! Thank to the amazing

Erica: The most perfect way to close out what has genuinely felt like the longest January in living history.

I spent this morning at Sandra’s Gratitude, Life Balance & Intention Setting experience and it was everything I didn’t know I needed.

From the very beginning, Sandra created an atmosphere that felt calm, intentional, and deeply welcoming. She guided us through gentle movement exercises to reconnect with our bodies, followed by the Circle of Life activity, mindfulness practices, meditation, journaling, and personalised affirmations. Each element flowed beautifully into the next, giving space to slow down, reflect, and reset.

What radiated most was the collective energy in the room. You could genuinely feel a shift happening. Everyone became more grounded, more open, and more connected to themselves. By the end, there was a shared sense of clarity, lightness, and renewed intention that’s hard to put into words.

Sandra is an exceptionally talented woman who brings a huge amount of positive energy into the lives of others. Holding space in this way is a skill, and she does it with warmth, confidence, and real care. A huge well done to her for creating something so thoughtful and truly special.

The setting couldn’t have been more perfect. The garden domes at Bingham Riverhouse, right on the Richmond riverside, are stunning. Light-filled, peaceful, and surrounded by nature, they created a sense of escape from everyday life while still feeling intimate and cosy. An ideal space for reflection, connection, and wellbeing.

We also left with some exceptional goody bags (more on those soon), which was such a lovely final touch.

If you’re looking for a meaningful way to reset, reconnect, and set intentions with purpose, keep an eye on Sandra’s work. I couldn’t recommend her experiences more highly.

✨ Meet Erica Fraser ✨
Fractional Director of Marketing and Founder of Withers & Sloane

Erica built Withers & Sloane to create a community for senior marketing freelancers who were working in silo and wanted more connection, opportunity, and impact.

Here’s why joining this network works for freelancers:
• Access high-quality opportunities with private equity-backed and high-growth organisations
• Work at pace on meaningful projects without being tied down to permanent roles
• Grow your network and collaborate with like-minded senior marketers
• Increase your earning potential while maintaining flexibility
• Be part of a community that values expertise and fosters connection

💡 If you’re a senior marketing freelancer looking to work smarter, scale your impact, and be part of a trusted network, Withers & Sloane is here for you.

You cannot underestimate the energy that comes from being in a room full of accomplished women who are genuinely curious about each other.

Erica joined a year ago to expand her professional network with more like-minded female founders and business leaders who are building, connecting and backing one another.

From the very first event, it felt different. Deeply rooted in real connection.

What has built with FIENA is genuinely impressive. A private members club that moves far beyond traditional networking, shaped around five signature pillars that influence the life, wellbeing and experiences of its members: Heart & Soul (wellbeing and restoration), Showstopper (fashion, beauty, art and city lifestyle), Magic (travel and retreats), Samurai (sports, fitness and adrenaline), and Gentlewoman (business and intellectual growth).

Last night’s highlight was the Chef’s Table at at New Oxford Street. A beautifully curated, immersive dining experience that felt both personal and elevated. Guests were introduced to Orangery’s philosophy and welcomed by the brilliant Renee, FIENA’s expert in videography and photography, whose work captures the essence of this community with real precision.

The table was filled with inspiring women from across industries, including TV and film, art, surgery and sustainability. Each brought depth, perspective and passion. One of those evenings where the conversation matched the quality of the food.

As the founder of Withers & Sloane, Erica spends a lot of time thinking about how meaningful networks shape opportunity. Being part of spaces like FIENA reinforces something she has long believed. When community is designed with intention, it becomes transformational.

Grateful to be part of a network that champions ambition, creativity and substance.

We talk a lot about community at Withers & Sloane, but here’s what that actually looks like in practice.

When we run strategy days, the morning is deliberately informal. No slides. No pitching. No rehearsed introductions or CV roll-calls.

It’s intentionally unscaffolded.

Why? Because real relationships aren’t built through performance. They’re built through conversation that ebbs and flows. The kind you’d have by the kettle or over a desk if we all still worked in offices.

That space matters. It allows people to show up as humans first, not job titles.

The afternoon is where the structure comes in. That’s when we talk business. That’s when you share what you do, what you’re building, and how you want to grow.

But if you skip the human bit, the rest is just noise.

We don’t need more networking theatre. We need more places where people can actually get to know each other.

That’s how community forms. Purposefully. Intentionally. Collaboratively.
___

A huge thank you to for the filming and editing, & for the brilliant spaces.

Connection dies the moment performative behaviour begins.

At Withers & Sloane, the way we build community is very deliberate.

When we run strategy days, the morning is intentionally informal. No slides. No pitching. No “tell us your job title and biggest achievement”.

It’s unscaffolded on purpose.

That space allows real, organic conversation to happen. The kind that would naturally unfold around the office kitchen or between desks if we actually worked in the same place.

People connect as humans first, not CVs.

The afternoon is different. That’s when we bring structure in. That’s when people talk properly about their work, their business, and what they’re building.

But without the morning, the rest doesn’t land.

Real relationships come before strategy.
That’s how community is built.

First week back with Withers & Sloane, through Erica’s lens.

Monday was about easing in properly. A swim, some headspace, then into Central London to meet a new client we’ll be working with from January.

Tuesday started slowly with breakfast, then back into the city for another new client conversation.

Wednesday meant time with an existing client (one she’d also seen on Monday), then dinner with the girls. Living close to her best friends is one of the quiet joys that keeps everything else balanced.

Thursday was long. City, then Canary Wharf, then a client meeting that rolled into dinner and wrapped up around 10pm. Client dinners are brilliant for connection, and they do take energy.

Friday was a WFH home day that started at 7am, and ended at 2pm exactly as it should but never usually does! A spa after with our brilliant social content creator Tilda, founder of her own social media business, followed by drinks at the pub.

This is what the work actually looks like.
Relationships, trust, energy management, and knowing when to slow down.

A note on our collaborators

Withers & Sloane doesn’t work because of one person. It works because of an exceptional group of collaborators.

Strategists, marketers, creatives, operators and specialists who step in, take ownership and raise the standard every time. People who understand that good work isn’t about ego. It’s about clarity, care and delivery.

You bring perspective, challenge, depth and momentum. You make complex work feel calm. You show up for clients as if it’s your own business, because in many ways, it is.

We’re incredibly grateful for the talent, trust and thoughtfulness you bring into this ecosystem. Thank you for choosing to build alongside us.

Though not all are featured here, we want to thank each and every person who makes Withers & Sloane the amazing space it is.

— Erica
Founder, Withers & Sloane

Special thanks to: Mary, Elena, Mark and our wider network for the incredible work you do, and all of the support over the years.

Managing client expectations is one of the hardest parts of consultancy.

Not because clients are difficult.
But because urgency is often emotional, not strategic.

A “last-minute emergency” usually isn’t about speed,
it’s actually about a lack of clarity upstream.

If you’re finding yourself firefighting instead of leading, these principles help reset the dynamic 👇

⏱ Urgency ≠ priority
Pause and ask what problem the request is actually solving, and whether it ladders back to agreed objectives.

🧭 Anchor everything to strategy
If a request doesn’t connect to the business strategy, it’s not ready to be executed yet.

📆 Build decision windows, not panic windows
Clear timelines, review points, and approval stages dramatically reduce reactive behaviour.

📄 Get brutally clear in your SLA or SOW
This isn’t a nice-to-have. It’s vital.
Your agreement should clearly outline what is aligned to the strategy and operations you’re providing, and explicitly state what isn’t. Ambiguity here is where expectation creep begins.

🚫 Say no to misalignment, not people
Declining work that sits outside scope protects outcomes, relationships, and your authority.

🎯 Curate your client portfolio
The best work happens when you partner with businesses that have consistency, intent, and a clear strategic direction.

Strong consultancy isn’t about being available at all hours.
It’s about creating the conditions for better decisions to be made earlier.

And choosing clients who value that.

Christmas feels like a good moment to pause and say thank you.

At Withers & Sloane, the real magic is woven through it. In the ideas shared, the challenges tackled, the trust built with clients, and the care taken in the work we put into the world. None of that happens without brilliant people behind the scenes.

It’s why we love to invest in our collaborators. They bring such warmth, creativity, hard work and dedication to us, and we want to ensure they get back from us everything they need to thrive.

To our team: thank you for the energy, thoughtfulness and commitment you bring, not just when it’s easy, but all year round. Your creativity, professionalism and generosity of spirit are what make this business what it is.

Wishing everyone a peaceful, joyful Christmas, and a moment to rest, reflect, and enjoy the magic you help create every day. ✨🎄
