Bruce - The Price / Mimicry
Out now

Label - Poorly Knit
Cat no. - PORK001
Format: Digital & Vinyl 7”

and alumni Bruce, is cast out of the heavens following his dream-pop-heartbreak excursions, coiling back to the mortal and old faithful dance floor once more.

Fallen in fury, he treads alone on his new imprint, Poorly Knit, lashing out with two twisted and tangling tracks, The Price & Mimicry. Obscure sound design and unhinged samples are stitched into bass-bin-devastating rhythm and melody, cementing and serenading the burial of all DJs brave enough to step up.

Cut to small but deadly hand-stamped 7”, each side taunts a different flavour of his snickering, singular, soundsystem homecoming.

A true and ever-evolving artist, Bruce welcomes us back into his brave new world once again, a wholly refreshing release to start the year, and the new chapter has only just begun…

XIN LIE - Self-titled debut album

Out now on vinyl & digital via .data

Bandung-born, DJ & producer, Diannov Pamungkas made his appearance with the moniker Xin Lie when he started actively hosting radio broadcasts with local DJ collective, C*SSS. He made his DJ debut at the hardcore punk shows where he grew up with. Later, his childhood memories brought him through the performance of Reak / Kuda Renggong, a traditional Sundanese performing art featuring a group of horsemen. Soon thereafter, he began his self-recording of Dogdog (long tubular single-headed leather drums) and began sampling & developing his own style of percussion sounds, driving his personal rhythm with influences from contemporary club culture.

As most of us now live in a world saturated with information, this album feels like a reflection of how the modern world might sound if it were to process its own chaos through a unified scream. Hailing from the highlands of Bandung, West Java, a city where tradition and modernization intertwine in the rhythm of daily life, Xin Lie unpretentiously translates this cultural fusion into a sonically rich and rhythmically bold debut LP.

4. Xin Lie - NYEUNGEUT LAUT

Rose Again - Into All Lands EP [Amity]

It’s hard to believe the club-night turned record label has only been releasing music for just over a year with the impact the tight-knit crew has had in that short time. The label has consistently shown their ear is firmly to the ground, with its journey beginning in September 2023 releasing a killer debut compilation ‘Kill’s Two Birds V.A’ that presented cutting-edge bass creations from the likes of , , … and subsequent follow-up EP’s in 2024 showcasing label-heads and ‘s production prowess.

Gesture // - Check Sum EP
Out now on

London-based producer Gesture delivers a dynamic display of mutated breaks and beat wizardry on “Check Sum” the 12th release from Redstone Press. Pseudopolis rounds off the four-track EP with an acid-drenched, free-party reminiscing remix.

On “Check Sum”, Gesture channels weighty, distorted bass hits, wobbly breakbeats, and tense, hazy pads into a dark sonic offering. Wonky, textured atmospherics drift in, while ghostly Hip Hop and R&B vocal fragments weave in and out. “Grizzlin” introduces echoing dub vocals, skeletal breaks, and blurry organs before diving into a melting pot of spiraling amens, pummeling subs, and aquatic percussive elements. On “PH0L8” Gesture maintains the relentless breakbeat template, adding reverb-soaked 303s, mind-altering breakdowns, and plunging bass drops to create a rich, hypnotic soundscape. Label boss Pseudopolis reinterprets “PH0L8” into acid-techno territory, stripping back the original and adding 4/4 heft and shimmering, ethereal pads. Hold tight for the Reece bass switch-up halfway through.

Gesture’s “Check Sum” EP cranks up the energy with an electrifying assortment of break-science and boisterous sound design, marking an impressive entry into the Redstone Press catalogue.”

WZY4.5 Various Artists Compilation
Woozy // Out now 𖤓

Woozy’s annual WZY.5 compilation summit gathers for its fourth installment, celebrating 9 artists of dubwise disposition that maintains the label and its founder EMA’s spellbinding tradition in futurist soundsystem music. No Sir, Maude Vôs, Jossy Mitsu, Chewlie, Beaabea, Mantra, Introspekt, Ila Brugal and Honeydrip all feature for another bumper showcase of ambitious club sounds.

WZY4.5’s welcoming address looks to No Sir’s Dilate, an elastic-shock of icy swagger that rudely snaps under the serious sub pressure. Maude Vôs’ Faerie Ring gurgles with psy-eye wonder amidst its half-time hypnosis, before the chromatic piston-breaks of Arena bounce around Jossy Mitsu’s irresistible kinetics. Chewlie’s Blaze Of Sobriety is a crooked stepper of wide-eyed abstraction that swivels on an addictive head-nod lurch, while Pixelate’s taut trip through Beaabea’s stern kick-drum ballistics offers some dastardly club drama. Mantra then signals the rave siren, meditating on a percussive half step before igniting the jungle (dub) tekno fervour of Bedrock. Introspekt’s naughty 2-stepper Digital throbs in a see-saw of LFO menace and crisp swung-drum mechanics, before Moth’s blunted dancefloor haze illuminates Ila Brugal’s effortlessly rolling groove. On closing remarks is Honeydrip with Aspire, a zooted stepper of heavenly breakbeat joy that sk**ks sub-heavy style to its and WZY4.5’s glorious conclusion.
