đŸ‡«đŸ‡· Que t’ont appris les moments de doute sur ta maniĂšre d’ĂȘtre musicienne ?

“Avec le temps, j’ai compris que les pĂ©riodes de fragilitĂ© et de questionnement Ă©taient inĂ©vitables dans un parcours artistique. Elles font surgir des zones d’inconfort, mais aussi de profonde luciditĂ©. Ces moments apprennent l’humilitĂ©, la patience, et surtout l’importance de la recherche de sens.

Le doute nous oblige Ă  nous recentrer sur l’essentiel : sur la profondeur du travail, l’engagement sincĂšre envers les Ɠuvres, et sur la nĂ©cessitĂ© de rester au service de ce que les compositeurs ont Ă©crit, avec intĂ©gritĂ© et humilitĂ©.

Les moments de doute m’ont appris que la fragilitĂ© peut ĂȘtre une vĂ©ritable force.

Nous vivons aujourd’hui dans une sociĂ©tĂ© qui valorise la performance, la rapiditĂ©, l’efficacitĂ©, l’image du leader inĂ©branlable, et oĂč tout semble devoir sĂ©duire et convaincre en quelques secondes. La diffusion massive de la musique et des images sur les rĂ©seaux sociaux accentue encore cette exigence de l’immĂ©diatetĂ©, du spectaculaire, du dĂ©monstratif.

Or, la musique, et en particulier le travail d’interprĂ©tation, me semble Ă  l’opposĂ© de cette logique. Elle demande du temps, du silence, de la lenteur parfois, une disponibilitĂ© intĂ©rieure qui accepte le doute et l’inachĂšvement. Elle suppose d’entrer dans une profondeur qui ne peut pas se rĂ©vĂ©ler instantanĂ©ment. Accepter la fragilitĂ©, c’est accepter de ne pas tout maĂźtriser, de laisser la musique nous traverser, nous dĂ©placer, nous transformer. Cette prise de conscience continue de nourrir profondĂ©ment ma maniĂšre d’ĂȘtre musicienne. Elle m’a appris Ă  rĂ©sister Ă  une certaine pression de la performance pour rester fidĂšle Ă  une recherche de vĂ©ritĂ©, de prĂ©sence et de sens.

Et c’est cela que j’ai pleinement envie de dĂ©fendre aujourd’hui.

Ces moments ont finalement renforcĂ© ma conviction que le privilĂšge de vivre de sa passion implique une responsabilitĂ© : celle de rester en mouvement, de ne jamais figer sa vision, et de continuer Ă  chercher

🇬🇧 In recital, the relationship with the audience is more direct : how does this compare to performing on the opera stage?

“It is a completely different experience. Recitals can feel more exposed and, in some ways, more demanding than opera: there is no staging, no partners, no costumes, no set. The relationship becomes far more intimate, and one feels almost completely vulnerable in front of the audience. Vocally, it can also be more demanding, as one often sings continuously.

At the same time, it is a great joy to perform with an orchestra or with a pianist. Recitals and especially duo recitals with piano, is something very special and moving, because one presents a programme that is often entirely personal: poems and music that resonate deeply, and that one shares directly with the audience.”

🇬🇧 You recently performed the role of Sister Constance in Poulenc’s Dialogues des CarmĂ©lites. Could you tell us about this experience?

“Sister Constance is a role I had long wanted to sing. It suits my tessitura very well, I feel extremely comfortable vocally, and the music is sublime. I also love singing in French: I feel very close to the text and its subtext, and I am particularly drawn to the sung sonorities of the language. Constance is a complex character - at once youthful, naïve, and deeply profound. Her connection to the divine makes her very confident and self-assured.

She evolves on stage alongside Blanche, sung by HĂ©lĂšne Carpentier, who was truly inspiring. Dialogues des CarmĂ©lites is an intensely powerful and deeply moving work, and at times one must contain one’s emotions in order to continue singing properly, particularly in the final Salve Regina. This production was very demanding for us on stage, and the fact that it was so warmly received by the audience was immensely uplifting for all of us.”
