Concrete that breathe. Moss-covered cities might be our future.

That’s what Dutch startup Respyre is making possible with moss-covered concrete facades.

No soil. No irrigation. No fancy upkeep.

Just science + nature = passive, low-maintenance sustainability.

We’re talking air purification, carbon capture, heat reduction, and biodiversity… all from the side of a warehouse.

🧱 Made from recycled demolition waste.
🌿 Grows moss like a forest on vertical surfaces.
💚 Turns grey cities green (literally).

It’s small. It’s smart. It’s working.
And it gives us hope.

Ever feel like you’re working on autopilot - chasing deadlines, productivity, and “progress”… but losing yourself in the process?

What if capitalism isn’t just a system out there but something we’ve absorbed in here?

Join us for “Getting Free: Unlearning Capitalism from the Inside Out”, a 90-minute workshop exploring how the stories of growth, domination, and separation shape our work, our wellbeing, and even the climate crisis.

We’ll bridge systems thinking and inner work to unpack how we’ve internalised capitalism’s story and begin composting it into something regenerative.

Expect deep reflection, group dialogue, and practical tools to leave burnout behind and reimagine work that feels aligned, alive, and whole.

⚠️ Limited to 15 spots.

Last month, we hosted our first Networking Cooperative Games Night where collaboration (and laughter) beat competition every time.

We played Daybreak, an award-winning game about saving the planet (and, somehow, also about figuring out the rules 😅).

Big thanks to everyone who joined, and to Matteo Menapace, the game’s co-creator, for sharing his work with us.

We’re doing it again tomorrow October 29 as well as next month November 26.

Come for the strategy, stay for the snacks. 🌍

Yesterday we kicked off our very first Green Coworking Friday, and it felt amazing.
From sharing portfolios and websites, to deep conversations (and plenty of laughs), it reminded us why community matters.

Big thanks to everyone who showed up 🙌 we’re making this a weekly ritual.
Same place, same vibe, every Friday. 🌱

Plastic waste is one of our biggest environmental challenges, but nature has a potential answer.

Pestalotiopsis microspora, a fungus from the biodiverse Amazon rainforest, discovered by Yale University researchers, can literally eat plastic and convert it into harmless organic matter.

Could mushrooms hold the key to a cleaner, greener planet?

The potential is exciting, but we need more research to safely scale this discovery.

Join FFASE on the last Wednesday of each month to play together and learn!

This series of game nights is a relaxed way to network with like-minded people through playing a collaborative game, and reflecting on what ideas from the game we can bring into our work and our lives.

We’ll play Daybreak, a board game about stopping climate change. It’s a fully cooperative game, with no turns! So you’ll be openly strategising with your team mates, and playing climate solution cards to build a greener and fairer future for all.

📍 SPACE4, 113-115 Fonthill Rd, London N4 3HH

🕐 Every last Wednesday of each month, from 6 pm

There will be several game tables, drinks, snacks, and lots of good chat.

The series is hosted by Matteo Menapace, co-designer of Daybreak, and me, Damiano De Simone, founder of FFASE - Freelancers for a Sustainable Earth.

What if solar panels could work even on cloudy days, and looked beautiful doing it?

Meet Carvey Ehren Maigue, a Filipino inventor who's turning fruit and veggie waste into luminescent solar panels that capture UV light (yes, even through clouds) and generate clean energy.

His invention, AuREUS, won the James Dyson Sustainability Award and it’s made using recycled crop waste from local farmers.

☀️ No direct sunlight needed.
🍊 No waste wasted.
🌍 Just bright, colorful impact.
👉 This is what innovation should look like.
