This super article from Condé Nast Traveler highlights how one can support destinations and hospitality professionals by travelling outside of peak season.

Travelling out of peak season not only supports hotels and communities, but it is a time when destinations are a bit quieter, your experiences can be more personal, less rushed and there is the opportunity to connect more authentically with those you encounter.

Off-season adventuring is a powerful way of leaving cash in local pockets when it’s most needed.

As 2021 draws to a close I am sure many of us are reflecting on the year behind and look ahead with uncertainty to the future of travel in 2022.

As my company is closely tied to Southern Africa, the region which has evidently been hardest hit, for the longest period of time, my outlook is very reflective of this.

Please share your thoughts - I would welcome opinions on what the outlook is in other parts of the world (or your view on Southern Africa).

This week I've been in beautiful Barcelona. The city is like an old friend I have visited many times before, primary for short work trips when I've flown in and out. This time I decided to extend my stay following the IBTM tradeshow - a global event for the MICE industry.
Embracing , I extended my stay for a week to have the time to absorb the feel of the city and to get to know it on a deeper level. I was fortunate enough to meet with a few local people who always enhance a stay in any destination.

I reached out to Travel + Lust and was so delighted we had a chance to meet and discover that we have so many synergies. Travel + Lust recommended this wonderful little gem Seventy Barcelona where I upgraded my hotel stay for my last couple of nights.
Not only does the hotel provide a host of stylish spaces to work (because I need to do some of that today!) but the laidback luxury is spot on for me. I love the little sustainable touches and the most comfortable bed I think I have ever slept in!
I'll be sad to be going home but know I'll be back here sooner than you think!
