Following President Bio’s cabinet reshuffle and his appointment as a Presidential Adviser, outgoing Foreign Affairs Minister Timothy Musa Kabba has thanked President Julius Maada Bio and those who supported him during his time in office.

“I have run a great race. I thank God Almighty for the grace to serve this nation and Mr. President, Julius Maada Bio, for the opportunity,” Kabba said.

He also wished his successor, Mohamed Rahman Swarray, well in his new role, saying, “Best wishes to my dear elder brother; Hon. Rahman Swarray in his new role.”

President Bio has appointed Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Timothy Musa Kabba and Finance Minister Sheku A.F. Bangura to serve as Presidential Advisers.

The appointments are part of a new set of appointments announced by the Office of the President on 11 August 2026.

Bangura is currently serving as Minister of Finance, while Kabba is the current Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Once their new appointments are approved, the two ministers will leave their respective portfolios to take up their new roles as Presidential Advisers under the Bio administration.

President Bio has announced new appointments to Sierra Leone’s foreign affairs leadership, with Mohamed Rahman Swarray, currently Minister of Employment, Labour and Social Security, nominated as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Once approved by Parliament, Swarray will replace Timothy Musa Kabba, who currently serves as Foreign Affairs Minister.

Mrs. Jeneba J. Bangura, former Commissioner General of the National Revenue Authority (NRA), has been appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The appointments were announced by the Office of the President on 11 August 2026, alongside several other changes in government.
