Here’s a little look at some of the websites I’ve built.

Every project has been different, but they’ve all been built around the business behind them, what they sell, and how their customers actually use the site. I’m really grateful to the clients who trusted me with their websites and let me get stuck in.

Still slightly amazed this is my job.

This is what a Shopify 1.0 → 2.0 refresh actually looks like.

Same brand. Same products.

Just a smarter structure underneath. This refresh wasn’t about reinventing anything. It was about making the site easier to navigate, quicker to shop, and simpler to manage day to day.

What changed:
• clearer homepage flow
• flexible sections that can be updated without dev help
• better product discovery across collections
• a site that’s built to grow, not held together with workarounds

If your store still feels heavy, clunky, or hard to update, it might not need a rebuild, just a proper refresh. DM me REFRESH if you want to know what moving to Shopify 2.0 would actually change for your store.

Great visuals, strong brand, but a few small UX gaps are slowing things down.

✨ On the homepage, everything competes for attention.

✨ On collection pages, there’s too much before the products.

✨ On product pages, there’s no clear next step after choosing a size.

When I ran my party business, slow sales really knocked my confidence.
Covid made it even tougher. Some weeks I had barely any orders and it felt like nothing I did was working.

Over time I learned that sitting and stressing about it only made me feel worse.
What helped was focusing on the small things I could actually control.

These 7 habits made me feel calmer and gave me simple ways to keep my shop moving forward, even if I could not see the results straight away.

If your sales are quiet right now, I get it. I have been there.
Try one of these habits today and see how it feels.

The easy welcome email setup

You can set up a simple welcome email directly in Shopify, no extra tools needed.

1. Say thanks
A friendly opener. Thank them for signing up and tell them what to expect.

2. One line about your brand
Why you exist, what you make, who it’s for. Keep it short.

3. One clear next step
Link to your bestsellers, a collection, or one product you love. One link only.

4. Optional incentive
Add a discount if you use one. If not, skip it.

5. Sign off like a human
Reassure them you won’t spam and they can unsubscribe anytime.

That’s it. One warm email that sets expectations.

Next, I’ll show you simple abandoned cart emails you can set up in Shopify.

They say failure is part of the process, but what if it’s not failure at all? 👀

My first business was everywhere - in Stylist, the Daily Mail, even on This Morning. We were two mums sick of plastic-filled party bags and thought: there has to be a better way.

The PR was amazing... the timing wasn’t. Lockdown hit. No parties. No income.
But that “failure” was actually the nudge I needed. I found my way back to web design - this time, on my own terms. Creative. Flexible. Fulfilling. And finally, something that fit.

So here’s your reminder: the thing that didn’t work might just be leading you to the thing that will.

What business idea did you leave behind to get where you are now?

Alot of small brands copy big-brand websites and then wonder why their site doesn’t convert.

Astrid & Miyu can get away with leading with a discount, keeping the brand story subtle, and letting people click around. Most visitors already know them and trust them.

Small brands don’t have that luxury.

⭐️ If your homepage doesn’t quickly explain why someone should shop with you, people leave.
⭐️ If product pages don’t clearly say why something’s special, interest drops.
⭐️ If your menu feels overwhelming, shoppers don’t explore, they bounce.

None of this is about bad design. It’s about clarity.

Big brands design for people who already know them.

Small brands need to be much clearer, much faster.

Some things are coming with me for the next 10 years.

This is what happens when a website is built to actually help people shop.

It’s now much easier to find the soaps, bundles, and the info you’re looking for.

Everything feels calmer and clearer, spacing, colours, and type all working together.
Little nudges like bundles, bestsellers, and quick actions guide you without being pushy.
Product pages answer questions properly, so there’s no hunting or guessing.
And the story, the goats, and the making process finally feel connected instead of scattered.

And the nicest part is hearing this from the client:

“I recently had my existing WooCommerce website transferred over to Shopify by Pip, and I couldn’t be happier with the results… the whole process felt effortless. Pip was quick to respond, explained everything in simple terms, and her aftercare has been fantastic. If you’re looking for a web designer who is skilled, reliable, and genuinely supportive, I highly recommend Pip.”

If your site feels busy, unclear, or like it’s not quite pulling its weight anymore, this is your sign.
