Let’s clear something up.... the algorithm is NOT against you.

In fact, you and the algorithm can be best friends! 👯‍♂️

Want to know the secret? Your CONTENT

If you put out content that performs well and receives good engagement, the algorithm will see that it’s doing well, and will push it further!

If however you post something and it receives low engagement, the algorithm will see that it hasn’t performed well and won’t push it further.

You have to know what your audience wants to see and then make sh*t hot content around this. That way, your audience will engage with your content and your post is notified to the algorithm to be organically pushed to places like the explore page, suggested posts, hashtag feeds etc!

Who wants to be besties with the algorithm?!! 👯‍♀️

One word... VALUE

Are you providing your followers value? Are your posts drawing them in, are they relatable, shareable, attainable?

Your CONTENT on Instagram is the main metric you should be worrying about! Forget about the likes, comments, saves and shares... these will all easily come if the content is valuable!! There’s no point stressing over what time you’re posting, because if you posted at the peak time on Instagram but none of those followers liked your content, they’re not going to engage anyways!

You’re content is what’s going to help you grow! Figure out what your audience likes to see from you and SERVE them that goodness 🍽 If you’re posting random content or content you haven’t put any thought into, you’re not going to get anywhere.

Your followers should be your number 1 priority. Get to know them, understand what they like / don’t like and connect with them! It’s through your current followers that start sharing, saving and liking your posts, that you’re going to be put in front only new followers!

CONTENT & COMMUNITY are your main focus. The hashtags, timings, stories, locations etc are all just the cherry on top.

Are you making these mistakes with your hashtags?

Here’s how you can change up your current habits so that your hashtags actually WORK and benefit your account... because when they do, they’re super powerful! 💪🏼

- Find relevant hashtags to your business
- Use ALL 30 per post
- Use less saturated hashtags where you’re more likely to show up
- Create multiple different sets for different posts so that you’re not always using the same ones

Have faith my friends 🙏Remember... everyone starts with 0 followers! You will grow and “get” to the stage you want to get to when you’re meant to get there!

Everyone is on their own path and constantly comparing yourself to other accounts with big followers is not going to help your growth mindset. Trust the process and the timing of your journey 💭 ... and stop stressing about your number of followers.

Keep consistent, create good content and build your community.

What you put in... you will get back!

Photos: creating shareable and relatable content that resonates with people will increase the chances of them sharing it to their followers, which in return will result in more reach and growth for you!

Videos: Showing your followers an insight into yourself and your businesses through video content will in return build your trust with them. For example.. people watch my reels, love the tips I give and trust me enough to come for further coaching in the future!

Stories: Stories are SO underestimated! They’re such a powerful feature on Instagram to build that connection with your followers!

DMs: This links to all of the above. If your followers relate to your content, are engaged with you and ultimately TRUST you... the moment they’re ready to send you a DM, they will already be prepared to convert into a sale! But your DMs should be something you really focus on how you answer / reply to people. They have taken their time to@message you, make sure you return the favour and don’t send a half hearted message back - people can feel the vibes you give off on how you reply! If you want this person to buy from you, spend the time getting to know them and why they would be best of with you and not someone else!

Still think that 100 followers isn’t a lot... imagine 100 people in a room with you! It’s time to stop seeing the ‘numbers’ and start seeing the real person behind each follower.

Focus on who you do have following you and maintaining a connection with them, before you focus all your time on trying to get ‘more followers’. Make sure you know how to convert your current followers into paying clients / customers, before you try get more. It’s amazing for an account to have 10K + followers, but this won’t matter at all if they’re not converting any of them. Quality over quantity.

You should be celebrating when someone following you! They have seen something on your account that has made them want to press that follow button... that’s an amazing thing that you should celebrate! Get to know them, build a connection with them (they’re not robots!), they’re real people who are potentially going to become a client / customer. Value them and make sure they want to stay following your account. They’ve made it this far, don’t let them go!
