When I was studying Interactive Media Design at uni, I was looking for ways to improve my mental capacity, to think clearer, come up with better ideas, and move faster.
That’s when I found a challenge from entrepreneur James Altucher:
Write 10 ideas a day, every day, for 6 months.
Any topic. No pressure. Just write.
I did it for 4 months, and it completely shifted how I think.
At first, most ideas were rubbish.
But something clicked after a couple of weeks.
🧠 My brain got sharper.
⚡️Creative blocks got easier to break through.
❌ I stopped overthinking every decision.
It’s easily the best mental exercise I’ve ever done.
What it gave me:
✅ Clearer thinking in the mornings
✅ Quicker decision making under pressure
✅ More energy to start, not just plan
✅ A better instinct for ideas, good or bad
Try it this week. 10 ideas a day. Any topic. Doesn’t matter if they’re useless, the point is to stretch your thinking.
You’ll be surprised what comes out.
