🚨 UK Student Visa Update: Bloomsbury Institute Suspended as Sponsor

The Home Office has officially suspended London’s Bloomsbury Institute from sponsoring international students, after removing it from the updated register of licensed sponsors on June 9.

The Institute had already paused all international recruitment for the October intake, telling partners it would stop processing new and existing applications while undergoing a UKVI regulatory review linked to historic international student intakes.

🇳🇿 Big News for International Students: New Zealand Is Launching TWO New Graduate Visa Pathways from 16 November 2026

New Zealand has announced major updates that will reshape how international graduates transition from study to work, and the changes create clearer, more flexible options for students planning their future.

✨ 1. New Short‑term Graduate Work Visa (6 months)
A brand‑new visa giving eligible graduates six months of open work rights to find a job or move into an Accredited Employer Work Visa.
To qualify, you must:
• Complete a full‑time Level 5–7 qualification in NZ (minimum 24 weeks)
• Not already qualify for a Post Study Work Visa
• Show NZD $5,000 in funds
• Never have held a PSWV or this new visa before

This visa is one‑time only, cannot be extended, and doesn’t allow supporting a partner for a work visa, but you can support visitor visas for family.

✨ 2. Expanded Post Study Work Visa (PSWV)
From November 2026, students who complete a Level 7 graduate diploma in NZ will qualify for the PSWV if they:
• Studied full‑time for the entire programme
• Didn’t use cross‑credits or RPL
• Hold a bachelor’s degree (NZ or overseas)

The PSWV will match the length of your diploma (up to 1 year) and can only be granted once.

🎓 Three clear pathways for graduate diploma holders:
• With a bachelor’s degree → Open PSWV
• Without a bachelor’s degree, but a diploma is in Appendix 13 → PSWV tied to a specific occupation
• Not in Appendix 13 + no bachelor’s → Short‑term Graduate Work Visa

If your employer pays you less than the minimum wage in , the Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO) is the national workplace rights enforcement agency.

✅ Where to Complain
You should lodge a complaint directly with the Fair Work Ombudsman through a Request for Assistance on their website:
fairwork.gov.au

The document states clearly that the FWO is the body responsible for investigating underpayment, enforcing workplace laws, and recovering wages:

“The Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO) is an independent Australian Government agency… to investigate and enforce those laws when they're broken.”
