At Fred & Eric, we’re always exploring ways to innovate, and AI is an exciting (and sometimes amusing) addition to our creative toolkit. It was fun playing around with this ‘squish’ effect on both us and our logo!

AI can be brilliant at handling repetitive tasks, generating inspiration, and speeding up our process, but it’s still not quite there when it comes to the heart and soul of animation. Crafting each detail, nuance, and character with our team’s own hands and eyes is still where the magic happens.

So, while AI is great for adding a fresh layer of creativity, we’re not handing over the reins just yet! It’s fun to experiment, but the Fred & Eric touch will always be human. ❤️

There was a lot to consider with getting these right, beyond them just looking beautiful. We had to make sure we had a diverse and specific set of characters. We worked on creating a file for each character before we started the illustration process. Agreeing on their age, where they were from what they might be wearing and holding. What their setting might look like, what they might be feeling and what trauma they might have experienced.

Overall a really enlightening process and a project we’ve loved to be a part of.
