🤫 I’ve been hibernating for a bit, let me tell you why…
Did you know that 20% of businesses fail in their 1st year, and 60% will go bust within their first 3 years. It’s a statistic that I’d heard before but last year it really drove home.
I joined a mastermind at the start of the year with a number of women entrepreneurs. All experts in their field. All with great businesses.
But slowly over the course of 2021, many of them quit. Went back to a full-time job. Or just decided they no longer wanted to do it.
One of main reasons why? Burn-out. 😫😵💫
Because they were trying to do all the things.
Because WE are all always trying to do all the things.
And so this year I’ll be focusing on just 3 things.
1. Growing my team
2. Serving more awesome women
3. Becoming the CEO
Because, like you, I had periods of feeling burnt out. I also considered hanging my hat up and patting myself on the back for a good 4-year run. ✌️
I decided not to do that. Instead, I dug deeper and decided I was going to focus on thinking bigger. So that my business could be bigger than me and my laptop.
It’s good to know these stats. Not so they discourage you from starting your business. But so that you go all in, eyes wide open. So that you work smarter, not harder.
So that you get help when you need to - you stay in your lane and you hire people who are better, smarter, faster than you.
So you do the things that only you can do, CEO.
So that you can be among the 40% whose business stands the test of time.
And while that may have sounded LOUD, this post is for me. So that when I get tempted to do it all myself, I can look back on this post and be reminded to focus on the right things. 😎
What SHOULD have been loud for you though, sis, is to stop trying to do all the things. ⛔️
And one of the things you should certainly stop doing is pretending you understand Wordpress enough to build your own website, even if you bought that template that promised all you had to do was replace the demo content with yours. 👀
Send me a DM now so that your new website becomes my problem, not yours.
Just think about what else you could be focusing on instead…
