At Sheffield DocFest DocFest this year, join us for Silenced: How Power Adapts to Suppress Wome.

As more women speak out against abuse and injustice, new systems of silencing are emerging in response. From defamation lawsuits and legal intimidation to entrenched cultural misogyny and structural inequality, this conversation brings together filmmakers and advocates to examine how power adapts to suppress women’s voices. Drawing on three urgent documentaries spanning Australia, Spain and Puerto Rico, the conversation explores the global fight for justice, the risks of speaking out, and what meaningful legal and cultural change might look like.

This discussion will include Jen Robinson, the human rights lawyer and subject of SILENCED, alongside Bàrbara Mestanza (Director, Filthy), Gabriela Díaz Arp (Director, Matinino) and Sandhiya Sophie Argent (Solicitor & Co-Founder of Creators Counsel), and moderated by Together Films CEO Sarah Mosses.

This is an industry event - find out more here: https://zurl.co/MO6UZ

Next month is Plastic Free July !

Plastic Free July is a shared global movement that helps millions of people reduce plastic waste through simple, everyday choices and be part of the solution to plastic pollution. That way, we can enjoy cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities.

Campaigning against single use plastics is a huge goal for the kids in Future Council who get to sit down with companies and challenge them on their environmental impact. You could start conversations on how to reduce plastic waste in your community by watching Future Council, and get inspired to change your own habits and challenge those at the top.

FUTURE COUNCIL is available for community, company and educational screenings now - get in touch: https://zurl.co/ag8Ny

Amazing to hear Unbiased Science Podcast Dr Jess Steier reference I'M STILL HERE, LOVE in her keynote speech at NYU School of Public Health!

Disenfranchised grief is when a loss cannot be openly mourned, socially sanctioned, or publicly supported - and it's a key theme of I'M STILL HERE, LOVE, a film that tells the story of three unvaccinated men who died of COVID-19.

National Grief Awareness Day takes place on 30th August this year, and you can host a screening of I'M STILL HERE LOVE to start important conversations in your community: https://zurl.co/PlbkL
