Marketing plans… We spend months intricately piecing them together and then we’re scrupulous about implementing each minute detail. Right?

When we first started out, we were happy to partner with other agencies on a ‘white label’ basis and that worked for us at the time. It gave us the experience and confidence to develop and grow.

Nowadays though, we prefer to work as technical partners, outsourcing to experts where necessary. We’ve learnt that it’s much better to be transparent and communicative with clients about where our expertise lies rather than pretending to be ‘jack of all trades’.

When you’re starting out in business, ‘fake it ‘til you make it’ can be a useful mantra: it can encourage you to put yourself out there, try new things, and most importantly, work with some fantastic clients early in your career.

What is more important, a highly experienced and skilled employee or one who cares passionately about doing a good job for you and your clients?

We've had an awful lot of committed, talented team members over the years, but we've also had our share of average performers...which was entirely our own fault.

Working hard on our recruitment process over the last few years has been game-changing. Using video interviews as the first stage, employing communication style assessments and 'job fit' analysis software, we feel we have significantly improved the way we hire....

But we're still learning and would love to hear about any contradictory or complementary approaches…
