I work on all client projects from a "mobile-first" perspective using Axure wireframing and prototyping and there is sound logic in approaching assignments this way.

By adopting a “mobile-first” approach to apps and websites, designers and clients are helped to mentally prioritise the content and elements which are most important and relevant to the site visitor, and that the navigation flows in such a way as to ensure the visitor has a great user experience - getting to where they want to with the least number of clicks/taps.

The risk of working “PC-first” is that it's always easier to add extraneous elements to the desktop version rather than to think about how to strip them away for mobile use.
