Same colour swatch, different rooms. Light can dramatically change shape in each space.

If you are struggling with colour overwhelm try painting a swatch and moving it around the room at different times of the day to get the best idea of how it will feel overall.

In my latest article I discuss IKEA hacking, give my top tips to bespoke furniture and point you to some of my favourite insta inspo accounts for hacking inspiration.

"Let’s be honest, bespoke furniture is beautiful, but it comes with a price tag (and to all the carpenters out there, we love you, but sometimes we need a cheaper fix). As an interior designer, it might sound controversial to point you toward IKEA, but from a practical standpoint, with tight budgets, and tighter timelines, it’s a conversation worth having.

Because here’s the truth: IKEA can be bespoke and beautiful, if you’re willing to bring a bit of creativity and effort to the table. Starting with a flatpack base doesn’t mean settling for generic, it’s about making smarter, more expensive-looking decisions without the cost."

Jagged paint lines be gone...

Took me a while to perfect the perfect crisp line, but here's the hack I swear by. Oh and a good frog tape helps also!

Girl math = instead of finding the tape measure using masking tape to measure my new sink upcycle project 😂

Better than using my hands and waddling like a penguin while trying to keep them at the.right distance!

Anyone relate?

It's all in the details...

And this combination took me a long time to decide on. Very happy with how it has all come together and with all the companies used.

A late night update on the living room progress and we are almost there! A few bits to fine tune but it's come a long way in less than a week. Do I need to keep talking about the power of paint?!

Do you love it?

...but I wouldn't have it any other way.

YES our kitchen is now amazing, but our home is a reflection of our everyday life. I preach to my clients about designing for the personal family needs, for the chaos, for the beauty in it all. And this kitchen renovation is proof.

Sure, I'm wincing as Lily heads for the paint in the cupboard while Rosa runs towards the island with yoghurt dripping everywhere, but I know we'll love this space even more with time.

And touch wood, all the research I've done into surfaces that are hard-wearing will stand the test of time 🤞🏻.
