La semana pasada tuve el placer de facilitar una sesión de LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® para Cáritas Barcelona.

No deja de sorprenderme lo que podemos conseguir en este tipo de talleres.

Os dejo aquí 3 razones para probar el método con vuestros equipos:

• Permite profundizar en problemas poco explorados o que no han salido todavía a la superficie, para definir y acordar qué es lo que está pasando y por qué.

• Utiliza nociones de psicología positiva ya que es un método enfocado en construir, no destruir. Por lo tanto, se centra en buscar soluciones a los conflictos o problemas de comunicación, colaboración o estructura, que estas construcciones nos desvelan

• Proporciona mucha claridad, ya que identificamos muy bien los elementos en que componen una estrategia, un equipo o una relación. Cada pieza tiene un significado. Nada sobra y todo el mundo llega a un acuerdo común de lo que cada parte simboliza y lo que necesitan para llevarlo a la acción.

What one year of improv has taught me. Beyond yes and… 👾

✅ Ready is not perfect:
We all think we need to have everything planned out.
But it does not need to be ✨ PERFECT ✨
Sometimes we just need to take the first step, the first action, make a move.
In improv, you can be the one with the opening line, but you rely on your partners to help you continue the story.

✅ Team work vs. dominant voice:
It does not work when someone wants to control the scene. 🚧
When they have an idea and do not let go of it. Everyone becomes uncomfortable, the audience knows it and the scene is poor. It is so much better when you give way to your scene partners to add details or to even change direction.

✅ You are constantly testing fresh perspectives:
One of my favourites improv games is 🌟 New Choice 🌟
Players perform a scene and at any point, the director can hit the bell and say “new choice” so the performer needs to say something different.
This pushes your brain to look for something different and after 3 or 4 answers, an unexpected, left field, a wonderful choice comes out of your mouth.

In the past year, I have been incorporating little by little some of these games and concepts into my facilitation.

💁‍♀️ Every workshop is different.
🤸‍♂️ Every workshop is fun.
🏍 Every workshop is powerful.

And in all of them, there are infinite lessons that can be applied to innovation, team building, active listening and, generally, better collaboration.

Ema

She’s our creative strategist and her passion for words and perfect visuals comes through in everything she does.

Ema is, above all, a pleasure to work with. We miss seeing her in our weekly in person catch ups, as she’s now based in Milan. However, her smile and positivity breaks through the screen in online meetings and there is no barrier she can’t overcome.

Ema manages our team of copywriters, designers and video editors, although she is also a writer herself and, like many of us, can shift from strategy to reporting in a heartbeat.

Thérèse

She’s our youngest, but don’t let that fool you. Thérèse is a shapeshifter and one day she could be writing great copy for social media, whilst another day she would deliver with a great competitor analysis. Above all, Thérèse builds meaningful relationships with influencers and social media followers, to help our brands cut through the noise and be seen.

When she first started, Thérèse told us how she was attracted to Barrio Digital because of our diversity and the fact that we were a strong team of women.
