Ken McMullen is the director behind Hamlet Within - a radical cinematic investigation into the myth of Hamlet, its origins and its enduring appeal across cultures and systems of beliefs. The work asks the question: “why Hamlet” and more appropriately perhaps, “why Now”. Exploring underlining pillars of Hamlet have triumphed over time, space and language to draw continued interest and on-going discussion from audiences.'⁠

The release of Hamlet Within will be marked with a launch event at on the 21st May, in partnership with and sponsored by crypto-startups Lumiere and Been.⁠
⁠
Hamlet Within sees actors and scholars come together in a semi-fictional discourse to delve into the work and expose the myths and morals behind Hamlet’s construct as a folk story appropriated by Shakespeare from the Irish in the late 16th Century – who previously appropriated it from the Normans and from the Vikings before them. Shot in five acts and framed by a prelude and an epilogue, the work is a collage of acted monologues and staged dialogues referencing Hamlet’s most famous Soliloquies.⁠

Ken McMullen also draws from his extraordinary archives of interviews with some of the most important thinkers of the 20th century to argue the validity and viability of the myth in today’s world.⁠

We’ve been working with on the release of Ken McMullen’s ‘Hamlet Within’, starring ⁠ , John Shrapnel, Lex Shrapnel, Ben Turner, Gabriella Wright, Anne Sophie Refskou, Richard Wilson and Jacques Derrida.⁠

Premiering at 2022 on 21st May, the film will be released as an NFT collection on the newly formed blockchain and NFT ecosystem platform, . Cineverse will ​​enable filmmakers, distributors and producers to market films directly on its NFT-based platform where films can be shared, sold, gifted and resold in minutes. This will give rights owners access to resale rights during all life cycles.⁠

The group’s founder, differently abled singer, actor, speaker and entrepreneur, Emmanuel Kelly, created the group with an aim to address inclusivity within the entertainment industry and drive a more inclusive approach to film, TV and music.

Along with co-founders, film director Adam Morse and PR and communications expert Tim Allen, Emmanuel and Outlyer’s Mission is to enable the world differently - providing a solution to end stigmas surrounding people with disabilities.
