Having an email list is only half the battle. The other half is knowing who should actually be on it.

Most list-building advice focuses on volume. More subscribers, more sign-ups, more reach.

But what if that volume leads to having the WRONG people on your list? You know, the people who will never buy from you, never open your emails, never tell anyone about you. Then it's just a number.

The small business owners I see getting the best results from their emails? Not necessarily the ones with massive lists.

But the right subscribers on their list.

Everyone's obsessed with attracting new subscribers. Lead magnets, paid ads, viral content...
 
But the people most likely to open your emails, reply, and actually hire you? They're already in your world.
 
Past clients. Warm contacts. People who've enquired but not booked yet. Colleagues who refer you.
 
These people already like you. They just need you to show up in their inbox.
 
So before you go chasing new subscribers — have you invited the people who already know you?
