Want more people to find your social media posts? Here’s how to make them search-friendly. 🔍

Swipe through for our key tips:

✅ Keyword research
Use tools like Google Keyword Planner, Answer The Public, and Google Search to find the terms your audience is searching for. Answer The Public is great for spotting common phrases, just note you only get three free searches a day!

👀 Social listening
Check the language your audience, influencers, and competitors use. What words or themes come up repeatedly? Adopting their terminology helps your content appear in relevant searches.

✍️ Keywords in captions
Include relevant keywords naturally in your captions, ideally in the first sentence for better visibility. This now matters more than hashtags! Avoid keyword stuffing - make sure your post still reads smoothly.

📸 Alt text & image descriptions
If a platform allows alt text, use it. Add clear, keyword-rich descriptions to make your posts more searchable and accessible to all users.

🎬 Video captions
Captions aren’t just for accessibility - they also improve engagement and discoverability. Adding clear, visible text helps your content reach more people.

📍 Geotagging
Tagging locations, where appropriate, boosts local search visibility. This is especially useful for hospitality, retail, and service-based businesses that rely on foot traffic.

🔁 Consistency
You will often hear us say ‘Consistency is key’ - it’s much more important to show up regularly than to have bursts of activity. In terms of timings, try to post when your audience is most active, and when your post content is at its most relevant.

LinkedIn is pushing hard for video content! But don’t make these common mistakes in 2025 👇

❌ Posting Long-Form Content – With LinkedIn’s new TikTok style vertical video tab, shorter videos perform better. Keep them under 2 minutes for higher engagement.

❌ Not Thinking About the Safe Zone – UI elements (like buttons, captions, and profile details) can obstruct your video. Keep text and key visuals within the safe zone and always post portrait format for maximum visibility.

❌ Not Optimising for Sound-Off Viewing – Many viewers start watching on mute. Stop the scroll with captions and strong visuals to make sure your message lands.

❌ Wasting Time on Intros – Skip the “Hi, I’m [name].” Instead, hook your audience with a bold statement, a question, or immediate value.

❌ Forgetting a Clear CTA – Always tell your audience what to do next—comment, share, visit a link, or read the caption. Not including a strong CTA is a lost engagement opportunity.

🎨 Mark Up: Add your creative take on a post you’re resharing.�
🔍 Profile Search: Search profiles for something specific.�
📅 Scheduled Posts: Schedule posts directly in the Threads app.�
📢 Public Custom Feeds: Share your custom feeds for others to follow, now visible in a new “Feeds” tab on your profile.
