New Year, New Me (trying anyway), New Pantone Colour of the Year...
Naturally for some reason (maybe it's been drilled into us from a young age) but those few days inbetween Christmas and New Year (you know the ones where you don't know what day it is) lend themselves to evaluating the last 12 months and planning for the next 12 months. It's not a bad thing to be honest and I would encourage everyone to do the same.
Admittedly, I had kind of ignored (not the right word really) and didn't fully digest Pantone's colour of the Year 2022 when it was announced, simply because I was getting through some projects before we closed over the winter break.
So, when I wasn't working I did what I love best, research what is to come in 2022...
Pantone have for the first time created a brand new shade; Pantone 17-3938 Very Peri, a vibrant periwinkle blue with violet red undertones! Pantone describes it as "a new Pantone colour whose courageous presence encourages personal inventiveness and creativity". Leatrice Eiseman, Exceutive Director of the Pantone Colour Institute goes on to say "Veri Peri displays a spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expressions".
With the rise of NFTs, virtual reality and the emerging Metaverse, I think hit the nail on the head creating a new shade of blue. I like it a lot and am looking forward to introducing it into some of our projects in the coming year!
