Leaf House, Cotswolds — an architectural narrative shaped by light.
As part of my ongoing work with John Cullen Lighting, I’m proud to help share one of their most exceptional recent projects: Leaf House, designed by Alex Michaelis of Michaelis Boyd Architects and now recognised with a 2025 Residential Lighting Award at the LIT Lighting Design Awards.
Set within rolling Cotswold woodland, the home unfurls around a central ‘stem,’ its curves, textures, and living roofs harmonised through a lighting scheme crafted by Creative Director Sally Storey and Lead Lighting Designer Hazel Park.
From discreet plaster-in downlights to sculptural uplighting and concealed Contour linear details, every fitting was chosen to elevate the architecture’s fluid form while preserving the home’s calm, contemporary aesthetic. As day fades, the lighting transitions into a warm, ambient scene, drawing the landscape inward and shaping a home that feels as good as it looks.
A privilege to showcase the collaboration between architecture, landscape, and light.
