PhoenixWorksFilms Limited is a new independent film production company founded in 2016 by Victor Almeida, BA Hons in Creative Writing. It was created out of the necessity to produce visually striking stories with the ability to resonate with their audience through storytelling seldom seen in micro-budget filmmaking. Victor Almeida wrote his first short film, ‘When Angels Sing’ in 2010 and has kept
active since then, working on an assortment of diverse projects, including a novel, numerous scripts of which one was under consideration by Sky One, and regularly publishing poetry online. Shirley Grana, partner in the company and a close friend, is well known in the community for her years of voluntary service dedicated to those in need, specifically with young individuals. She was nominated for the Neighbourhood Leadership Awards by the City of Westminster, and won the award for ‘Changing the Lives of Young People’. She is a skilled Photographer, exhibiting her latest work ‘From Where Stood I’ in 2015. Shirley brings a wealth of experience, singer, dancer, actress, and sculptor having organised various events throughout her career, and carries various diplomas including Film Editing. Eloy Grana, also a Co-Founder, studied Film at Queen Mary University in London, he is well nuanced in the arts of Filmmaking. He specialised in French Cinema, Film History and Film Philosophy. He is an aspiring novelist currently working on an ambitious fantasy saga and a historic horror script. Completing the group of Co-Founders is Alan Sanjurjo, a Film Studies graduate from the University of Oxford Brooks. He has edited and produced various short films for his course of study and has a keen eye for locating extraordinary shots that might otherwise be missed. Phoenixworksfilms is a rapidly growing company built on determination, ambition and passion. Having acquired a talented and experienced film crew, it will continue to work towards developing various exciting projects that are innovative, daring and visually striking, with short and feature length films.
